Good Comfort Food

Four of us stopped by one night for dinner. The food was quite good and the service was terrific. I had the fish and chips which were quite good and one in our party enjoyed the Irish Stew. I would go here again if I were in the area.

We read the TripAdvisor reviews on this restaurant and decided to go for dinner while staying in Opelika. My husband enjoyed the fish and chips although we are still on the hunt for our favorite fish and chips dinner. The fish is more of a breaded fish but it was crispy and flavorful. The chips were typical. I had a... More

The service was good. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was dripping oil. The food was very greasy. The homemade chips were very over cooked, just a a step down from being burned, but still had the bitter taste. The portions are huge. My husband said his food was good, but nothing special and that is why I am... More

We had a few errands to run Saturday, so we decided to stop by the Bred Pub. As we walked into the restaurant, we ran into friends who had already been served, but invited us to join them. The servers accommodated us as if it was no bother. drinks were brought immediately, food was not far behind. My husband ordered... More

What a neat place with an authentic Irish Pub flair. Great beer. House wine, ick! But they gladly exchanged it for one of their beers, yumm.Rueben, fantastic. Lots of families, couples, and small groups coming and going. Quite the popular place.

Stopped by for lunch this week while on business in Opelika. When in an Irish pub, who can say no to a traditional Shepherds Pie? I certainly can't, and I'm glad I didn't. It was delicious! Creamy mashed potatoes, perfectly seasoned filling, and piping hot! The house made ranch dressing (recommended by our server) was also amazing. Service was good... More

Had the lunch special and it was very good. Fried pork chops (2 & choice of fried or grilled) and 3 sides made for a big lunch. We will eat there for sure next time we are in Opelika.

We went for a late lunch on a weekday, but judging from its size, this place gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Lunch menu had a meat-and-three option (chicken, fish, or hamburger steak) as well as soup-and-sandwich combos, fish and chips, a Guinness stew, and anything off of the dinner menu. We had pork chops and a hamburger --... More

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. The building and the atmosphere are wonderful. The service is always good and friendly. The food is also consistently good. Also, there is usually open seating in the upstairs bar with very little wait. Everything on the menu is good. Personally I like the Maytag chips and the... More
