I had a shepherds pie that was average taste with two or three peas but loaded with the potatoes and had some large chunks of potatoes. Wife had a fried chicken over penne that was tasty. But the side was a broccoli salad that the broccoli was all yellow, obviously had been around way too long.

On a Saturday we took a drive through Opelika on the way to the lake and discovered the Irish Bred. Walking in we felt like we were in Ireland. Great atmosphere. We are obviously late comers to the discovery of the establishment. Crowded and lively with friendly service. We both ordered the Omalley's Shillelagh sandwich which has to rank as... More

The building was beautiful. Our waitress was nice, but by no means friendly. Food was ok, fried is always good. Irish is a stretch! They do have Stella on draft. As we were leaving we said thank you to our waitress with no reply.... Not sure we will return

Took 35 minutes to serve our order. Besides that is okay. Food is very good and the waiter apologized for the delay

The decor, atmosphere, and location are just about perfect. It was such a let down that the only good food we've had there so far was fried, not Irish by any stretch, and could quite possibly lose to chick fil a in a taste test. I really hope in subsequent visits things will turn around and we just happened to... More

The food is delicious. You have to have the Shepard's pie. The Reuben is also great. It's worth driving to Opelika if you're in Auburn and looking for something different.

Dined out on the patio Sunday evening, enjoyed the small Southern town atmosphere and welcoming hostess and server and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Steve ordered the crab boxty, a favorite and I had the grilled fish salad. All the food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Wish it were closer! The fun was the historic old town.. brick streets, painted... More

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was too. I loved the traditional pub fare and the portions were generous. I had Guiness beef stew and my husband had shepherds pie and they were both out of the ball park.

We ate here for Mother's Day. I found this to be a great spot to grab a beer or burger and listen for the train and grab a shot glass! The food was good; I had a "side" of their grits and must say they were the best I've ever had!! The burgers are great and you can order them... More
