Great Farm to Table

My wife and I had lunch with friends and all of my group were pleased. I had the oysters which were perfect. The sauce could have had a little more zing to it though. The brussel sprouts were terrific, as was the fried okra. The restaurant has a real charm to it and I need to back for dinner... read more

We arrived for our 8 pm reservation on a Friday night. They had a rehearsal dinner that took up most of the restaurant. I'd recommend they should have closed the rest of the space for the night. When we arrived the bar was packed with loud and obnoxious patrons. They sat us at an outside iron. patio table and chairs... More

We tried the pound cake at a local food festival a few weeks ago, and decided to try the restaurant for dinner. It did not let us down! We came on a Friday evening, and were seated with no wait. I had the arugula salad, and fried cauliflower appetizer. The cauliflower was amazing! It was crispy and lite, with a... More

We are so fortunate to have Daniel George in Mountain Brook Village. It is a great place to go for both lunch and dinner. I had lunch with friends this week. The hostess was very friendly and courteous. She offered us tea while waiting for the rest of our group to arrive, ran after me when I left my umbrella... More

We make this a night out about every 4-6 months, and has always been a consistently nice experience.

We were delighted with our evening here, after pouring over reviews and not being sure our selection would be a smart one prior to arriving. It is rare for us to highly recommend a meal since we are frequent travelers and love to cook. We loved every bit of the meal here deciding the grill romaine blue cheese bacon salad... More

Five of us met here for dinner on the business trip, but there were several couples here enjoying a romantic evening. I had the grouper, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The menu changes seasonally. You’ll need reservations.

Mom and I met Gary and Janet for dinner, last night. Every time we go to dg, it's a wonderful experience. During the week, when we go, it's usually more lightly attended as it was last night. Some of the larger spots are so loud. The competition is fierce in Birmingham but the cream always rises to the top. dg... More

Menu was abbreviated due to the occasion...we got to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert for $75. Food was very good but over-priced. Our server was outstanding but service between courses was very slow. We were both offered a free glass of wine because the chef got behind and we had to wait so long for dessert. This is not... Daniel George is an outstanding restaurant with a fabulous menu and wine list. When we have a birthday, anniversary, or some special occassion, this is our first choice in Birmingham. The service is superb, the atmostphere is quiet and relaxing, and the food is always excellent. We have never had a bad meal or poor experience. DG is a little... More
