This is the best fried chicken I've ever eaten! If you want some good southern home cooking - go to Martin's. They also have some pretty awesome corn bread muffins - you really cant go wrong here.

I was disappointed that they didn't have a couple of dishes I was really looking forward to - fried livers, fried okra or fried green tomatoes - as they have different foods available at lunch each day and it wasn't the days for those. That said, my meatloaf was really good and the corn muffins were fabulous. The service was... More

Yes, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable. This spot tends to be a favorite among the locals and returning locals, and there was a steady flow of customers picking up 'to go' meals. Family and friends have sworn by this place as being as good as homemade. Maybe it is just me because I am an original... More

A Montgomery favorite. Unfortunately, I think that has more to do with habit than taste. It is southern fare, fried chicken, corn bread, fried other stuff... Homemade pies, a plus. But actually, their chicken tends to be over cooked and dry while remaining greasy. How do they do that? Still, I have friends that insist on eating here because it... More

We stop here whenever we are in Alabama. The chicken is addictive!!! A must for lunch or takeout dinner. Don't miss it. You have to be there early for lunch as the place fills up early.

Volume. That's the name of the game here. It is not a big place, so to make the most money, they have to get you in, get you fed, and get you out so the next idiot in line can follow you down the same path. The sacrifice here is the service. Because of the whirlwind turnover, there is no... More

If you want to taste some of the best fried chicken and southern cooking, this is the place to go. It normally stays wrapped up, especially at lunch. So you may want to try early or late lunch. just not 12:00 pm. There is a line. Also, some of the best banana pudding you ever tasted. It is located off... More
