Busy resturant, good seafood

Have been there for dinner 2 or 3 times. Usually a wait for table. The food was great, but a little on expensive side for seafood.

The restaurant was packed on a Wednesday night, but service was brisk and the food excellent. The oysters were very good and the servings very generous.

Business lunch at Wintzell's offered ample room and accommodated us quickly. I think their Fried Fish basket aka Fish & Chips is one of their best options. But if you like fresh oysters, they do a mean dozen or two or freshly shucked, juicy flavorful oysters. I love their Oyster PoBoy.

The seafood is what this place is known for. The seafood was great according to my fish eating friend. The burger was frozen and not fresh. The atmosphere is really good, and would be great for a happy, large group.

I haven't eaten at a Wintzell's that I didn't like. The food is always fresh and great tasting. The price is a little higher than I like to pay for a single meal. Service was excellent. He was a little slow, but that was due to a large number of people in the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again!

A group of us ate at the Wintzells Oyster House in Fairhope Alabama and were severely disappointed with both the food and service. Decided to try again in Montgomery and it went a long way toward redeeming our opinion of the brand. Not perfect but a lot better

Fried green tomatoes appetizer for our table and a wonderful lunch. Great atmosphere, very nice service, reasonably priced, I would definitely come here again. Surprised to find that it's a small chain, wish they would open one where I live!!

We eat at the original Wintzell's in downtown Mobile regularly. The restaurant shares the fun sign decor and menu, but the quality is not the same and the service is very slow. We had two tables of 8, both of which ordered at the same time. The "kids" table had eaten, finished dessert, and had their checks before the "adult"... More

Slow service. Very limited menu. Convenient to hotel, but nothing special about the restaurant. Food was average. Everything fried. Nothing exceptional. Don't be in a rush.

Stopped in on a Friday night about 630 pm. Reviews we read were pretty good. Our experience was at best average. Appetizer was ok, crap lump soup above average. Main course was disappointing. Had the Half and Half (fish and shrimp). Fish was swimming in grease and mushy. Shrimp were average, though also very greasy. Wouldn't recommend the meal. Other... More
