We stopped here on a pleasure trip. We were afraid that we might have to wait for a table since it was close to lunch time. No problem. We had dined at an Wintzell's near Mobile but didn't want to wait. Found this one in Montgomery, AL. We had excellent oysters and a great Po Boy. The service was excellent.

I heard about this restaurant from one a couple of locals and later when I looked up their menu online, I decided to try with a couple of friends. I was able to find free parking on the street (after 6pm meters were free). A couple of us arrived a little early and while we waited reading and enjoying all... More

Have been here several times for lunch. I usually get a salad because they are very good here. In the past I have tried their grilled fish and it was too dry. However, last week I decided to give the fish tacos a try and the fish in the tacos are actually cooked just right with alot of flavor.

Went for a business dinner with colleagues. After a few appetizers (fried green tomatoes were the best!) I settled in on the bacon wrapped jalapeno stuffed shrimp, and they tasted great with not too much heat. Service was pretty good especially for our party of 10, only drawback was the lack of high end spirits. mostly well drinks and beer.... More

The best served are the oysters - all fried food seems to have been fried in the same oil. The "jumbo shrimp" were smaller than the regular shrimp sold elsewhere.

20 minute wait on a Saturday around 6pm- they don't take reservations. They were out of eggplant, so they subbed fried green tomatoes in the Seafood Napoleon. We liked it a lot! The fried oysters in it were so good, we ordered a basket of them. The crab cake was thin but full of crab. Next time we would skip... More

I am a very patient person, in a restaurant, and I understood that a party of 30 walked in before us, but NOTHING was right with our experience. When our food did arrive, mine was cold and my daughter's was wrong. We sent back the incorrect item and when the correct item arrived, it was cold too. When ordering for... More

Went for lunch on a Tuesday and had a dozen raw oysters, a cup of gumbo and the fried seafood basket. Everything was delicious. The seafood was very fresh. My only complaint is that service was very slow.

As a result, since my previous review, I have returned to Wintzell's a number of times. Sometimes the experience is good, sometime it is bad. I'll just summarize the experiences I can remember: 1.Bread - sometimes they bring or offer bread and sometimes they don't 2. Food - I always order the half and half; they removed the half and...
