We had to try ribs on our visit to the Mobile area and the place with the best reviews was Brick Pit. It is a little place - I think most people carry out, but the ribs were very good as was the chicken and the beans and coleslaw! Lots to look at while you wait - and the wait... More

My wife and I had supper here on a week day while in Mobile for business. Yes, it's located in an old house. Yes, it's dirty and the bathrooms smell. But isn't that part of the charm of some places? We both had a combo plate of ribs and pulled pork. She had bbq beans and potato salad while I... More

I have been coming to mobile for work for twelve years. This is always my first stop when I get into town. The ribs are awesome and this is THE best nana pudding anywhere! The service is quick enough that I'm in and out without wasting half the work day. Brickpit knows barbecue!!!

We parked behind the restaurant and were disgusted before we walked in. The parking lot smells rancid and trash was piled up in the back. When we walked through the door we were greater by a musky urine smell. This place is filthy. The menu is limited and not appetizing. Maybe I'm a BBQ snob from Texas, but this place... More

We wanted to try authentic Alabama style BBQ and heard that this place had great tasting barbecue but the atmosphere had a lot to be desired. I did not mind the writing on the wall and the simple furniture. However, we could not get past the foul odor in the restaurant. I knew we were in trouble when my 5... More

This place has amazing BBQ, especially the ribs. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere, so a lot of people use the take-out option. This is a carnivores delight with amazing flavor and generous portions.

I have been a customer for about the week after they opened. I will drive from 2 miles west of the airport, 45 Min. Round trip, just to get smoked pork and banana pudding. BEST DAMN SMOKED MEAT IN ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!

While planning our trip south, I heard a recommendation for this outpost of southern BBQ from a Kansas Citian who I assumed knew "Q". There is a lot to like about Brick Pit, but sadly it is not the food. Drove off I-10 and wandered about for awhile until "Garmina" finally got us directed correctly. But when we pulled up,... More

This is a locally owned restaurant. Many Mobilians faithfully come here. Winner of many awards for their BBQ. The restaurant is a rustic bungalow that serves lunch, dinner or take out. Atmosphere is non- existent. The restaurant walls are grafittied on purpose. TV in the corner is on the sports channel. You can sit down, have a beer, eat in... More

We are from Texas and have eaten BBQ a lot. This BBQ was OK but not great. I ordered the pulled pork plate with spicy BBQ sauce. They poured the BBQ sauce all over the pork. It was so hot I could hardly eat it. Most places serve the sauce on the side. My wife had a Pulled Pork sandwich... More
