The atmosphere at the True Midtown Kitchen is wonderful. On the night we visited, there was live music which really set the mood for an excellent dinner. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find for the out of towner but worth the search. There are lovely gardens in back. I don't know if patrons can enjoy them for a... More

As out-of-towners, we enjoyed the local character of the restaurant. Food was good, décor was pleasant and interesting, the outdoor patio was lovely for a drink after dinner, and the service was friendly. The restaurant was very busy and the wait staff seemed overwhelmed, but the waiter worked with me when I absolutely hated the wine that he had recommended.

I arrived at True with my supper club early in the evening. We were seated and the service was good. Wait time ok. When my order arrived I should have sent it back immediately, but was so hungry I did not. I ordered the flounder meuniere and it would have been great if it had not been so salty that... More

We apologize first for your food being salty, and even more so for the lack of response. We take great pride in our ability to prepare unique, local fresh food and proper seasoning is a must. Unfortunately the management was not made aware of this issue and we have taken steps to make sure that does not happen again. Please... More

Everything. Burger eaters should try the burger with the sweet bacon dressing. Loved the change-up on Cesaer salad served with tiny pieces of toasted catfish instead of croutons. Friendly staff and comfortable environment. Will go back next visit to Mobile

While in Mobile on business, a coworker and I ventured away from downtown to True Midtown Kitchen. We walked from downtown, which I don't recommend at all. It's much farther than you'd think! Once we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated immediately. The menu contains many interesting spins on traditional southern dishes. For example, the soup of... More

50s and 60s music was perfect being from my era. White russians were great! Steak melted in my mouth and my partner had a delicious burger. Enjoyed it completely!

We dined here for a business dinner on a Tuesday evening in the summer. The place was not busy at all. Our reservations were for 7 o'clock. Maybe four tables were occupied when we arrived. Our server was also our hostess and seemed over worked and stressed out when we walked in the door. We were all excited about dining... More

We dined at True Midtown Kitchen for my birthday dinner after see a wonderful movie downtown at the Crescent Theater. There were 4 of us. The place was packed. Unbeknownst to us we had a special treat. Amy True sang with trio of musicians. They sounded wonderful! Our server, Brandon, was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The food was... More

Great ambiance...but the food was a disappointment. ,The bread that was brought out in the beginning with a herb style butter, was delicious. However, the portions were small, especially for the price. The shrimp n grits was good but a small portion. It was topped with a mushroom, cherry tomato ragout type sauce. The chicken n dumplings..FORGET IT!!! First of all... More
