Happy Hour at the Kitchen on George

This is my third review of Kitchen on George. The first for happy hour. Met my son and daughter-in-law after work a week ago. Our choice was to sit at the bar. After reviewing the tapas menu we decided to get all 6 selections and a bottle of 6th Sense syrah. Selections included duck confit... read more

We were visiting Gulf Shores for spring break and decided we needed a change from the fried seafood restaurants that are so popular there. We looked at the reviews for Kitchen on George and decided to give it a try. We made a reservation online using Open Table which was linked to the webpage. When we arrived we were first... More

Kitchen on George is tucked away in a residential neighborhood---located in a beautiful restored bungalow--great attention is devoted to every aspect of dining--as this is operated by Richmond culinary arm. Even the tea and coffee are special---3 of us had varying entrees at lunch and all were outstanding----planning a return visit!

This restaurant was on our list for Mobile because of its rating, but the decision to go on our first night was cemented by the raves given by our hotel manager. I have an oft violated rule not to order crab cakes more than 25 miles from the Chesapeake Bay. Usually, I am reminded why I have the rule. Not... More

Should you be "stuck inside of Mobile", with or without the Memphis Blues again, you should not miss this restaurant. We went on a crowded Friday night but had made reservations. I had the Ponchartrain Flounder, blackened with jambalaya, shrimp and sauce. It was spectacular. My wife had chicken with potatoes and green beans. I had a taste of the... More

Operated by Virginia College's culinary school, this farm to table restaurant is turning out first class Gulf/New American fare in a renovated house with a relaxed but professional atmosphere. The restaurant is under the direction of a chef who made her reputation in WDC and on the food channel who has relocated to Mobile to the locals' culinary benefit. This... More

Ok, we have to admit, we only decided to dine at this restaurant because it was the #1 restaurant in Mobile. We just finished touring the USS Alabama and were ready to enjoy some local cuisine (we were out-of-town folk). I'm so glad we did! I will have to warn you...the route we took to get there made us second... More

All the decent restaurants in Dauphne street were closed on a Monday. We wanted somewhere good to eat after traveling on the road and we found it. Everything was delicious and well priced. The restaurant is in a location in a neighborhood that you just won't come across so put it in your gps. The price is a little expensive... More
