This is one of the top dining experiences ever for us. 6 reasons make it our #1. Service. Main Dishes. Salad & Soup. Desert. Ice Tea. Contemporary Design in a restored Mobile historical neighborhood. The service is over the top, see our waitress with two pitchers. Main dishes are created by the chef daily and exemplify the cajun with a... More

Need to make reservations or go early to see if any empty seats at the bar. You will be glad you did. We started with the Okra Tempura appetizer that was very unique & tasty. The blackened shrimp & grits made with goat cheese was even better! Equally delicious was the bread pudding with rum sauce & cherries. Can't wait... More

This "teaching restaurant" serves delicious food in a very pleasant atmosphere. The waitstaff seemed relaxed and made the experience very pleasurable. The small plates were a great sampling of items that might normally be served as entrees, and the catch of the day seafood was fresh and expertly prepared. If these are the chefs of tomorrow, we are going to... More

Visited this amazing restaurant on our way home from a Grand Canyon road trip and I can say it was the best meal we had in our week and half long trip. The service was superb, friendly and knowledgeable. We had the Shrimp & Goat Cheese grits, Jambalaya Pasta, the burger & the AMAZING Bread Pudding. The grits were silky... More

This restaurant is run by a group of students from a local culinary school. There is a nice menu, with most everything you would find in a medium to upscale restaurant. They also have an impressive wine list, and are open for happy hour and serve tapas. I think the food is very good, their homemade bread is excellent, and... More

We've been going to Kitchen On George for over 3 years and never had a bad experience! The food is both beautifully prepared and delicious! I've tried numerous items on the menu and all have been excellent. We've have never had a server that wasn't extremely courteous and helpful. We also enjoy their house wine, Rush, which is very reasonably... More

Service was impeccable and the food was good my only complaint is that we were seated directly next to the hostess stand and front door. I made reservations several weeks in advance and was very disappointed that we were seated at such a busy table. I am hoping for a better table next trip and will certainly be a repeat... More

Restaurant is located in quaint, quiet part of community. Nice ambiance and atmosphere. Service was fine. Food was fine. Had jerk grouper. It was somewhat mild on flavor and didn't have much jerk seasoning however. While fish was cooked perfectly, I'd prefer a bit more flavor in my food. Crab chowder soup was very good.

Have a good friend who lives in Mobile and asked him to recommend the best place for shrimp and grits when we were visiting. Kitchen on George was immediate response and definitely thumbs up for service, quality of food and ambience. A wonderful place run by culinary students, highly recommended, seems to be all local high quality produce. The small... More
