I have lived in Mobile for years and have tried this place 3 or 4 times. It is on the highway to florida and gets a lot of action. Many days the parking lot is over flowing. I hope people are going here because it is fun and kid friendly. The seafood is all fried and I am sure frozen...

We loved this place! It had great atmosphere and awesome food. There was a play area for children under the restaurant. The restaurant was upstairs with great views. The staff, from the hostess to the servers, were all very friendly and welcoming.
Good gumbo, good oysters, cold beer. Nice salad bar. Always fresh. Consistant quality and service. A regular stop on our way home form the gulf. please put gouda back on the shrimp & grilled cheese sandwich -just not as good without it!
We try to stop in Mobile on our way from Texas to Florida every year. Love Felix's and The Bluegill. Decided to try Original Oyster House. The food was amazing. We had the crab cake on fried green tomatoes and the tuna. Got cheese grits, turnip greens and red beans and rice. All were superb, but the cheese grits are...

Had dinner here with group of 8. We were seated right away.service was great and the food (soft shell crab, crab claws, fried gator) was good. Fun making your own cocktail sauce. Kids play area outside is nice also.
Visited the Original Oyster House down on the waterfront at Mobile, Alabama to indulge in what friends had told us about the seafood there. We were not disappointed, as I tried the variety plate, which included, fried oysters, shrimp, fried & broiled, flounder fillet, coleslaw, hush puppies and to top it off with fried crawfish tails and fried alligator bites....

Went on a Friday night and waited for 45 minutes to be seated. After getting a table, food and drinks came out very fast, hot and good! Would love to go back sometime.
What a great place to eat! The food was great, our waitress Kay was friendly, we really enjoyed it. This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and we were not disappointed. Wish it was closer to our home we would go more often.
