My girlfriend and I came here late at 9:30 but this was still open. We ordered something really basic like the Nasi Goreng and Mee Hoon Goreng. Both were decent. We also ordered Thosai which came with a dhall and two chutney. The hygiene for these sauce were questionable by Western standards (they look like they've been here for a... More

My partner and I ate here for 3 days running because we struggled to find diverse veggie food nearby. Food was always fresh and very flavoursome. Recommend the masala dosa. And have some of fried dahl ball.

Selvam was recommended to me by my hostel, so I went there for lunch. They specialise in one dish for lunch, which is served on a banana leaf (rice, vegetables and some meat/fish/whatever). The service was fast and the food was great. On top of that, it is actually very cheap. I would recommend it any time!

Seriously. Everything else seemed overrated in comparison. Selvam's by contrast, EXCEEDED our expectations. Very very reasonably priced, delicious south Indian food in an authentic setting with great, speedy service. It was so good, we went back again the day after. Try the briyani rice and definitely order a dish of sambal squid - tender morsels of squid in a spicy... More

We always go to Selvam every time we are in Melaka. They moved! The new shop is now next to the Indian DVD/video shop or near Public bank. It was fairly busy when we arrived. It was 9 of us but they are very accommodated and quickly put tables together. The food was same as before. Love the spicy squid.... More

Delicious Indian - Malay food. Not quite Indian but has an interesting Malaysian twist to it. Looked fairly hygienic (at least more so than some of the more grimy places down the road). Food tasted really good

from a loyal selvam customer .... please don't be fooled or tricked into thinking that the indian restaurant 'Sri Maja' which now occupies the building where Selvam USED to be, is the genuine thing because it's NOT ! Selvam has moved across the road by the traffic lights on the opposite corner, if you stand anywhere on the road junction... More

I found this place by chance, although I recognised the name from Lonely Planet. I had the vegetable thali (rice with light curry sauce/gravy,poppadoms and three types of salad) and added on a portion of chilli chicken too. The food came quickly, there was loads of it and it tasted superb! My entire meal (including an iced tea came) to... More

Good value for money for their set lunch. Tasty food with a good variety. Would have been nice if it was a bit hotter, but cold food is usually the case with set meals from a buffet. Service was quick and attentive.

Friendly, quick, and considerate service. Extremely vegetarian-friendly. Great amount of (delicious) food for value: 4RM vegetable thali, 2-4RM roti, 3-4RM lassi. Worth visiting multiple times as menu evolves from breakfast to thali to dinner sets throughout the day. Opens at 7:00am.
