Really casual place with loads of varieties of coffee and western food. The biggest surprise was the fact they are serving absolutely amazing laksa that has turned out to be by far he best we have had in Malaysia. Give it a go

this cafe is located in Jonkers Street. Its decorated pretty funnily in my eyes because of the wall hanging and other nic knacks. they have 13 different coffees from each state of Malaysia and me being an ex-Malacca girl, i had to try it! it was pretty mild compared to the local kopi O but quite good. we ordered otak... this is a must stop whenever i visit malacca. the golden rice chicken and coffee jelly are what i enjoyed most. just the right balance of spice, lemongrass and chilli used in the chicken rendang and the crunchiness of the nuts with ikan bilis. had this meal on 2 consecutive days. the consistency in the dish is what i appreciate... From the outside, this place looks very quirky and interesting, but I never imagined it to have good food. They serve a number of local dishes and everything we ordered was excellent. They also have good coffee

We run into this restaurant and I ordered Calanthe Laksa and must say that by far it is the best laksa we had in Melaka. So if you want to try the best laksa, this is definitely the place to go for!

Calanthe Art Cafe is a very simple and quiet restaurant, however the food is fantastic. Not only is the food delicious but the prices are also very reasonable, making the restaurant even more likeable. We went for dinner and I can particularly recommend the samosas and spring rolls. Unfortunately the service was not fantastic as they forgot to give us... More

Pretty good breakfast selection. Their coffee is not bad too! I will never forget their buttery, soft croissants. Ambiance of the place reminds me so much of Bag of Beans in Tagaytay, Philippines. Was supposed to go back for Lunch but hubby wants to try eating somewhere else, will definitely try their laksa on my next Malacca trip. P.s. Downside... More

I like the ambience in the cafe, it's comfortable, although there's no aircond it's cooling inside, we wanted to sit there and chill for the whole afternoon. We ordered Calanthe Laksa, Johor coffee, Perlis coffee and Malacca coffee. We love the laksa, its taste is a mixture of curry, coconut milk and lemongrass. To my liking it doesn't taste very... More

Found this place while walking around Jonker Street, it opens at 830am for breakfast, which is just what we were looking for as our hotel didn't provide breakfast. Tried it the next morning - such a restful ambiance, just great for chillaxing. Food is good - I had roti canai with dhal (ask for chili flakes to go with the... More

The food is pretty good. Try their Nonya Laksa. The gravy is exquisite, the dish is mostly gratifying. I wish they had put in a few morsels of meat/prawn/fish to complete the meal. We also had the nasi lemak, which is pretty good, complete with chicken. Overall a nice hangout place, better than average coffee, not sure about their cheese... More
