No orders taken, just eat what they put down in front of you

There seems to always be a queue outside this restaurant every time we visit, even on a weekday. They did not take our order when we sat down - just brought out the chicken and the rice balls for each of us. The rice balls were soggy and the chicken very oily. We're not watching our weight, the... read more

I was amongst the first few in line at 8am,waited until 830am and by that time the queue had swelled to about a dozen, and the queue just gets worse and worse as the day progresses, The chicken rice is mediocre at best, you will even get better examples in Kuala Lumpur, the chicken was stringy and for an establishment... Over hyped Chicken Rice eating place. They used to make excellent chicken rice balls and the chicken very tender. No idea what service is. No need to order the food and drinks. Everything is done for you, all standardized. BEST avoid this place!!

I've been there first in 2013 and recently back again last week. Saw that not only the long queues remain after 2 years, riceball is still stickily good. Chicken has always been tender but there are better chicken out there so you should just really be there if u like the rice balls

Always a queue in this uncomfortable part of Jonker st., where the sun shines to test your patience or kiasuness. It's probably due to the slow moving and lack of staff-service here... also the small size area. When seated down, it will take minutes before they take your order. In fact, out of the handful of staff, i think only... More

We passed by a few times and always long queue. On our last day, there were no queue! We were delighted. Even though we just eaten lunch, we went in and ordered a plate of chicken and a plate of rice balls. We were surprised that we finished them all! So yummy!!!

This is my 2nd visit to Malacaa after a very very long time and heard about the famous chicken rice balls so decided to see what was so great. It's basically chicken rice, balled up and everyone gets 5 balls each. Chicken was not fantastic and personally I feel that if the owners of the shop had read these reviews... More

Skip the rest. If you don't like to queue, avoid peak hours or weekends. Not suitable for single diners, as the smallest portion is 1/2 chicken. If non-halal is not an issue, just queue & enjoy the best chicken rice in town.

I arrived before 9am but already queue and had to wait. When my turn coming, staff told me they don't serve food for 1person. Because they serve only half or full size of chicken. I told old male staff that I could eat as small portion last time but he said change style to new way because good for business.... More
