This is one of the worst chicken rice I have tasted. Chicken was bland and rice was tasteless. Not worth the money. You can get much better chicken rice in most coffee shops.

12.5.2014 --there was a line (38 people deep) snacking around the side of the building @ 11.30am for lunch. Being a party of 5 adults+1 child, we had to come up with a strategy: 2 adults holding umbrellas waited in the queue. The rest strolled down Jonker St. to past the time. All told, the wait was 30 mins. (in... More

Texture of the chicken is good but that's about all. Taste is bland. Rice balls were very soft and flavourless. Their texture was not pleasurable at all and did not complement the chicken. Drinks were watery. Overall, a disappointing meal. Value is extremely poor - a plate of chicken for 7 people, 5 plates of rice balls (5 balls per... More

Location is easy to find, just another end of Jonker street which near the river, next to Hard Rock Café. The queue is quite long (about 20 people) and we queue about 30 mins to get seated. The kampung chicken taste is good, the chicken rice ball make it special. As what I learn, they make the rice ball is... More

My friend and I reached there about 11am and we waited about 40 minutes for the lunch. We ordered a plate of rice ball (5 pieces) and half chicken. (You can only choose half or whole chicken. Which will be too much for those who come alone or couple). It may look special but the taste is below average. The... More

We went there about 10.00am and many people queue already ! We waited about 40 minutes but thats alright as many websites state it is a must try food at Malacca so I patiently but to be honest I was disappointed ! So it was 3 of us and the waitress asked if we want half chicken or whole chicken... More

The chung wah chicken rice ball is special because the rice in round ball shape. However, if judging from the taste, i will just give it an 'average' mark. For travellers, Penangnites: worth to give a try, but may feel penang chicken rice is better. Singaporean and Foreigner: it is a must try food :)

We ordered chicken rice balls and chicken for 2 person, plus 2 lime juice drinks that the waiter recommended. There were 8 small rice balls for each person but we only ate one each. The rice balls were not fragrant and were bland. The boiled chicken was not deboned (unlike the Hainanese chicken rice in Singapore) and the meat was... More

IMHO, it my favourite chicken rice from Singapore to malacca. I actually do not eat much chicken rice in singapore as I do not like the meat texture and oily rice here. But the chung wah has the original old school taste and texture. Even their way of chopping up the chicken is old school like what my grand ma... More
