In some ways I prefer this to Chung Wah because it's less crowded, we eat in comfort, and the emphasis is on good chicken and fluffy rice without being made into balls. I prefer my rice fluffed rather than balled, I guess. Prices are friendlier compared to Chung Wah too.

Tender soft chicken, excellent rice balls. Normal oily rice is just plain. Service was good. Enjoy queuing under the hot sun!

The chicken rice balls were moist and fragrant but as I went during the lunch hour on a Friday afternoon, we were only limited to purchasing a maximum of 10 rice balls for a family of four. If you were there primarily for the rice balls, you would be somewhat disappointed with this imposed limit by the owners. You could... More

This chicken rice ball was our priority when we arrive at Melaka, but after ate, we think the food in here is average. The chicken was nice but there is still blood inside the chicken. The asam pedas fish also average taste and didn't cook well too, there still a part that the fish still rare. The price was fair.

Famous for its rice ball chicken rice. The queue during the mid day sun could be a killer. It will take you around 20+mins to get a table during peak periods. You will find that there are many similar restaurants along Jonker walk but they are all packed during the weekends. So plan to go early. The Chicken was soft... More

Chicken was average. Service was quick although there is a queue. They don't give all chicken rice ball but serve a mixture of regular chicken rice and another plate of rice ball. I personally like the regular rice better than the rice ball. The black beans soup was tasty. The building interior was in the old Melaka house style. Only... More

This restaurant claimed to be one of the earliest chicken rice ball sellers in Melaka. They claimed that their chicken rice balls are handmade right up to these days. We went to this restaurant for early lunch at around 11:30am but their chicken rice balls were not ready and thus, we were served rice instead. Chicken served was tasty and... More

Since we have been to Chong Wah so many times, decided to try this place, where the queues were just as long. We ordered chicken and fish. The chicken was very nice and the fish a change from strick chicken menu. Interesting, was served by a young 10 year old - did fell a bit guilt as he carried 5... More

One of the most popular food in Melaka is Chicken Rice Ball. It is a variation of Hainamese Chicken Rice, with the rice made like balls. Along Jonker Street, there are several restaurants serving this food, and I recommend this restaurant to try. The queue is quite long during lunch time so maybe it's better to come here not during...
