Lunch for 2

we went for lunch around 12:30pm, and already there was a long Queue. there was no soup on that day, though I wish we could have a try. there is a notice stating they will serve loose chicken rice with some rice balls aside, 'due to insufficient experienced staff'. for 2 pax, we got 2 plates of... read more

Really enjoyed the quick service....We ordered our meal during our 5 minute wait for the table and the meal was served in a couple of minutes. The chicken was delicious and the rice balls made the meal extra special. Would definitely recommend it for taste, service and location (right on Jonker Street).

Did ate many varieties in Malacca, so it is a must try to eat Malacca chicken rice if you are here. In conclusion, most outlets selling chicken rice are about the same, so unless you are a food writer or critique, to me most stalls here are very good!

The restaurant still look the same but not the service nor the food. The server where like running around like a chicken without head when you call for order. There are some non-local staffs who just stood there too look at the patrons instead of helping out...which is fascinating. They way these workers look as us as if we are... More

Located along the busy Jonker Street, Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Shop was busy with customers at the front waiting to be seated. We joined in the queue for lunch at 12.30noon, did not have to wait long, staff at the front took our order, Went inside, the interior was spacious and cosy. We love the tasty rice balls and tender... More

Been eating at this place a few times and the taste are quite standard. Best if you are there early, else you will need to queue and wait for a table. However, service are fast. The staff will ask for your order when you reach the entrance, so be prepared to give your food & drink order to the wait... More

Have eaten in this shop a couple of times. The most recent being over the weekend as Chung Wah already had a long line forming up even before 10.30am. Was disappointed that they limit each customer to only 5 chicken rice balls (roughly sized of a ping pong ball) Wanted to add more rice balls but they refused and only... More

You have to try chicken rice ball if you come here and this is as good a place as any to come and do it, less of a queue than Chung way and I thought more delicate rice balls. Did it, enjoyed it, ticked that box.

The restaurant is dressed up in a lovely authentic traditional facade & it follows through into the interior. It is spacious and hides plenty of nooks and corners. Despite having a long queue of diners waiting to get in, the restaurant staff was very efficient in getting you a table as quickly as possible. Sometimes during peak lunch hours, the... More

We queued here for 20 minutes. Ordered a whole chicken, 10 rice balls and cabbage for the 2 of us. Chicken is Abit hard not as tender as Tian Tian chicken in Singapore. Chilli dip is Abit too watery. Rice ball is nice. Overall paid rm47 including 2 can drinks. Not bad but overhype.
