Eat here: never. Drink here: if someone else is buying. Meet "local" girls here: if you want to end up on a Locked Up Abroad episode explaining how you lost your savings to a Thai crime ring.

Visited Geographer Cafe a couple of times for a drink since it is situated in a corner shop smack in the middle of Jonker Walk. After night fall, the cafe exudes a rustic ambience where one can sit, chill-out over a beer and watch the world pass-by. Time stands still for that moment in time.

While eating in this pre-war shop house on Jonker Street, you can easily imagine yourself living in an earlier era. We ate at Geographer Cafe twice: lunch and dinner. In the evening, the restaurant had a great atmosphere with live music. We sat outside where we could people watch and listen to the music. We enjoyed the Tom Yam Coconut... More

We had ordered two beers and were seated at the tall bar tables located outside of the bar, and minutes after ordering our drinks, the table was unstable and caused both our beers to spill. We explained to the manager about the shaky table, and even demonstrated to him how our drinks had spilt, but all he offered was his... More

this bar / restaurant sits on a corner that is perfect for people watching while having a bucket of cold beer. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the street fills up with hundred of venders selling everything you can imagine

Had a great meal and plenty of cold beers waiting for a storm to pass over . We were amazed to find bundaberg ginger beer on the drinks list as we come from Australia . The meal was great and the music and atmosphere was great.

The geographer cafe was listed on nearly every website for Melaka we looked at. Overall, the food was pretty mediocre -- everything we had seemed to be missing something. Okay, but not great. The local vendors we went to had the same things, were way better and at a fraction of the price.

We stopped here for lunch and really liked that we were able to watch the traffic and people passing by in the street! Wasn't bothered by noise, good fans and water coolers to help in the heat and we found the staff very helpful! Drinks were a little more expensive than we are used to in Asia but we thought... More

Located at the busy corner of the Jonker street, this is a perfect place to catch a bottle of cold beer on hot days or a cup of hot coffee at night. Serves good selection of western and local foods. Take your time
