We have eaten at Big Jim's Bama Q for years but this was the first time since Robert Irvine and Resturant Impossible did their tv show up grade, if that is what you would call it. The food used to be great and that was everything on the menu. It didn't look fancy but the food was really good. Now... More

Just left Big Jims Bama Q, and wow. Was not expecting that. You walk in and the place looks pretty good. You are told to "seat yourself" which meant you wander the various rooms of the restaurant, looking for the table you want. May sound good, but it results in people continously coming in and looking around, trying to choose... More

We made a detour on the way to Decaur, Al. We saw it on Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible and wanted to try it out. I'm glad we did. We travel with our dog and was pleased to find a covered area with picnic tables. The food was great and the staff was extremely friendly as well as helpful. We don't... More

We stopped there this weekend just to check out the new décor and the food we heard about from watching Restaurant Impossible. We were not disappointed at all. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the sampler platter and my husband and I shared it. All the meat, chicken, pulled pork and the one rib, had the smoky flavor,... More

Ordered to go for a family dinner. Excellent service! Excellent food! Wish we lived close enough to eat there more often!

We stopped here after a local referral while at the five state yard sale. We apparently hit the restaurant at the perfect time, as a huge rush had just left. BBQ was really good and the Hickory Fries were scrumptious. Who wouldn't like french fries piled high with BBQ, sour cream, and cheese?! Interior was super cute and did not... More

On our way to our cabin, we happened to pass by and spur of the moment stopped. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised at how cute the inside was. It was not expected at all from the outside. The waitress told us Restaurant Impossible had just recently in last month or two been there. I was very excited thinking...oh this... More

I recently volunteered to help during the Restaurant Impossible episode here. Several weeks later, I thought I'd stop in and see how the remodel turned out and try the food. I had the dry pork sandwich with collard slaw, corn relish and homemade fries. It was DELICIOUS!!! My daughter had a grilled chicken sandwich, mac and cheese and fries. She... More

We stopped based on the reviews. We wondered when we saw a sign that it had new owners, but we went anyway ordered half chicken and pork bbq. While waiting I heard the guy at the next table say he felt like everything needed salt. When our meat came out the girls wasn't sure which sauce was in which bottles... More

Have not been able to try the ribs, they often sell out, but the half smoked chicken is killer! Could wish for salad as a lighter side, but others are delicious. Love the baked beans.
