My husband, 4 friends & I went to Alana Shay for my birthday dinner last night. We had the worst dining experience any if us had ever had anywhere before. We arrived at 7:15 and were the ONLY diners in the restaurant. Weird for a Saturday night... It took about 10-15 min for anyone to come take our drink order.... More

We went to Cafe Alan Shay for Mother's Day Brunch. The buffet offered very rare prime rib, french toast, bacon, eggs, biscuits, salmon, fresh fruit, eggs benedict. Everything that I had was fresh, tasted ok. However, the $23 per person was kind of steep. I guess being that it was Mother's Day, they can get away with it.

This is probably the best restaurant in Huntsville for the money. Chef James Boyce, who is chef at Commerce Kitchen, Cotton Row, etc. did a wonderful job with this restaurant. If you are looking for a high quality breakfast or lunch, I haven't been there for dinner, for a good price, then come here. This is my favorite lunch place... More

This was our third dinner and we've had several lunches at Alana Shay over the past several months. Every time the food is superb: generous portions of carefully seasoned ingredients and just right combinations. Just had the fresh Georgia trout with apples and sweet potatoes: piping hot trout and the apples sliced thin with a delicate pecan sauce. Also loved... More

We had eaten dinner at Alana Shay and elected to go there for Easter Brunch. BIG MISTAKE!!! The buffet had limited choices and all the food was COLD. The only meat was roast beef. What happened to bacon and/or sausage. No pastries except croissants or biscuits. And then we had to ask for butter because there was none in the... More

What a disgusting and humiliating experience. Two egg choices..egg frittata and omelets. No bacon, sausage, ham, chicken..only cold, over cooked and flavorless "prime" rib. No pastries, toast, biscuits or jam or jelly. No shrimp. "Dessicated" oysters with no cocktail sauce or crackers. No cereals. No fruit of any kind..not even canned fruit cocktail. Orange, apple and tomato juice...server never offered... More

Living closer to his other restaurants, i have eaten numerous times at his other venues. Rarely does he disappoint. My real surprise was the quality and excellence of his restaurant at the Double Tree Hotel.. The duck confit with cassoulet was as good as I have ever had. A special for the night, I had to share with everyone. The... More

Huntsville locals know, Chef Boyce is probably the best chef in Huntsville. But, chances of getting a table at Cotton Row or Commerce Kitchen, without reservations, is slim to none. Alana Shay works out perfect for the nights when you didn't make reservations or you don't want the hassle of going downtown. Plenty of parking, plenty of tables, DoubleTree did... More

Ate at the restaurant during breakfast and chose the buffet. Everything I ate, besides the cook to order omelette was extremely salty. Will order everything else from the menu next time.

Wow! this place is beautiful. I was hoping the food would be too. I have only eaten lunch there and it was good. I had the crab cakes and the pear salad. Both were good. I hope to have dinner there soon. This restaurant is located in the Double Tree Hotel which has been decorated to the NINES. This is... More
