BUMPER B QUE

Being a BBQ fanatic when we travel I always have try the local fare. The parking lot was packed which I took as a good sign of good food to come. After being seated was immediately bumped by a passer by then by the wait staff. Tables are packed in. Then came the food. I ordered a 3 meat combo... read more

Visiting Birminghma area for 1st time and hotel clerk strongly recommended we eat at nearby Jim 'Nick's - we didn't know it was one of several in the SE states. My husband and I both loved our food - a beef brisket sandwich for him and the medium sized baby back ribs that our server, Leigh, recommended. Leigh was very... More

After seeing the rave reviews of this restaurant, I was very excited about trying their barbecue. I ordered beef brisket, potato salad and drink. The sandwich was very small, potato salad was a very small scoop and the Diet Coke had no carbonation. To get this very basic meal which ordered at the bar, it took almost 30 minutes. I... More

I'm a BBQ aficionado. So, when I found this place immediately next to our hotel, I checked with a couple of folks who just raved about it. And, based on the number of cars we saw there throughout our three-day stay, it has to be immensely popular. Service was excellent. My wife had a salad she loved with chicken and... More

Super busy.. and some computer issues beyond the staff's control... But... 1. Salad arrived about 40 minutes after initial order ( yep.. you heard that correctly) 2. Most parties seated around me had eaten and left. 3. Salad was incorrect and while I was offered chance to replace salad ( I requested grilled chicken, received smoked beef brisket), after 40... Alway busy, but well worth the wait. Pulled pork sandwich is my favorite. But the ribs are like Mom never made😀. Staff is friendly and attentive. Must have the baked beans if you want to put some South in your mouth.

This is more of a restaurant than a Barbeque place. There are too many good options for BBQ in Birmingham to settle for this. It's good however for a business meeting. Has a full bar, etc.

I was staying in the area for 2 weeks while on a buiness trip, we tried various places to eat and tried Jim 'N Nicks on the penultimate day. I wish we'd tried it sooner. The food was amazing, that's all you need to know. However just to add a little more detial. Everything is cooked fresh on the premises... More

My favorite thing to order at any location is the grilled catfish. This is my first time eating at this location and my fish was so overcooked it was not fit to eat. Also, the plates for the biscuits were dirty. With so many choices in the area to eat I will not be back.

I eat here regularly as I love their pork bbq. Habanera sauce is a kick that makes it great. Great window service and great choices...make a stop and see...
