We stopped by Jubilee Joe's for dinner; we were in the mood for some cajun cuisine. They have all the cajun usuals such as gumbo, po'boys, jambalaya, red beans and rice, crawfish (in season) boudin balls, and gater dishes. Plus there are crab, oyster and shrimp and pasta dishes. I chose my old standby...crawfish étouffée while my husband picked chicken... More

One of my favorite "Cajun" restaurants in the south, especially since it so,close to my home. I could literally walk there if it weren't for the heavy traffic flow. So many delicious items on the menu to select from makes it difficult to select from the many faves offered. ALWAYS, get the Gumbo YaYa and the delisciouly prepared Fried Calamari... More

This is my favorite place for seafood in the Birmingham/Hoover Metro area. The gumbo is great; as good or better than what you can get at the Gulf. Seafood is always very fresh. Their slaw is especially good. Only negative is that the portions are small for the price.

Was there last night and the service was good but the food was excellent. I had shrimp and grits - simply a great dish for appetizer. Their grouper fingers are outstanding and I try to have some every time I visit. We also had fried shrimp, seafood gumbo, and slaw. All was excellent. I have never had anything that was... More

we were here for lunch, and seated ourselves. there was nothing bad, nor was there anything great. I got a shrimp poboy, and it was just average. the service was somewhat slow, and the server seemed to be going through the motions, but not with much passion. the prices were OK. after reading other reviews, I expected the place to... If you like southern Louisiana cuisine, don't miss Jubilee Joe's! There are great appetizers, such as shrimp and grits, raw and chargilled oysters, and fried green tomatoes (with lump crabmeat and Dijon mustard sauce). Gumbo, red beans and rice, and crawfish etoufee (with a golden spicy, not tomato, sauce) are also available. Then there are the platters, including, crawfish, gator... More

There were many dishes to choose from. We each had something different and shared. All were good. Will go back when in the area again and try others.

I love this place! I found out about it here recently. There is not a lot of places that sells crawfish besides Joe's crab shack!!! They sell crawfish by the pounds! The prices were awesome! I got 3lbs of crawfish for $20, were I bought 1 lb of crawfish at Joe's crab shack for $17.99. they have everything you can... More
