My mom picked this place on a recent trip to B'Ham. I have to admit, I was less than thrilled just by the name. As we walked in we saw lots of seniors and I thought, "Oh great...this food will be bland." I couldn't have been more wrong! I had the meatloaf and mom had the fried chicken. I'm not... More

I get tired of eating at the chain restaurants when we travel, and much prefer finding local places. My daughter and I searched for just such a place on a recent trip to Birmingham, and the name 'Paw Paw Patch' sounded interesting. Expecting maybe a small diner, we were surprised when, well after the normal lunch hour, we pulled into... More

My wife and I have been roaming Shelby County around Pelham, Alabaster, and Hoover looking for an old fashioned - and good - meat & three restaurant. Our favorite is Niki's West but it's a long stretch to north Jefferson County. The Ranch House in Vestavia Hills is very good, also. The Paw Paw Patch has been in Homewood for... More

Birmingham has unfortunately lost many of the great meat-and-three restaurants that populated the city on almost every street corner. Paw Paw Patch is one of the few left standing. It has survived for good reason. The food is fresh, well-seasoned and downright delicious. The food handlers are friendly and the line moves swiftly. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're... My meal here was a business lunch with a client who suggested the place. At 1PM local time the parking lot was packed and very few tables were free. The service is cafeteria style with drink orders taken once seated. The vegetables and entrée items are attractively displayed as are tempting desserts. My tilapia baked in a lemon sauce was... More

Let me start with the fact that I am not a Meat & 3 kind of girl. If you know what that means then you have the gist of it. All of the vegetables are over cooked, sides are cooked in oil/salt and its pretty much a starch festival. Everything tasted the same and the butter beans where so overcooked... More

A friend recommended we visit this buffet on a quick visit to Birmingham. I had the grilled chicken, greens, rice, brussels sprouts and corn muffin. My husband had the fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, greens and the Mexican cornbread . All was very tasty. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed our lunch here.

Every time we went it's always been delicious! The roast beef is my favorite! Plenty of sides to choose from. They all look so yummy so it can be hard to choose. Not 1 complaint about the food! The cashier could be a bit more friendly. Too bad not opened on weekends.

I was introduced to this place on my last visit to Birmingham. I have to admit that it didn't sound like much when my colleague mentioned it but I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great, the staff was nice, and the value is excellent!

A friend and I ate at the Paw Paw Patch on January 21. This was my first visit and was impressed with the food. The restaurant was clean and our waitress was nice.
