Nice nite out!

This was highly recommended by a number of our friends in Bham. We went to the wine bar behind the main restaurant. Very cozy, food was excellent but be warned, only wine is served in the back. Liquor is only available in son restaurant. But overall it was a very nice place to have a quiet meal... read more

I ate here tonight with business colleagues. Past visits have been ok. Tonight I tried the veal special, which was pushed hard by the waiter and cost twice as much as the entrees ordered by my companions ($36). The shrimp were mealy and overcooked, the kale was bitter, and the veal was underwhelming and frankly didn't taste good. Possibly the... More

We had our first visit here last Friday. The food and service were mostly very good. Our crab cake and mussels appetizers were excellent. My entree, the quail special, was also excellent. My wife's grouper was the one not so excellent choice. It was fishy and not on par with grouper we have had elsewhere. They have a good wine... More

If your staying at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort, and want some really good Italian food, it's worth the 15 minutes to get to this place. I had lasagna, very good. My wife had shrimp and grits. Great atmosphere, good service. It's hard to find gems like this.

Food is excellent and service is very good. Make reservations well in advance. Birmingham doesn't have many good restaurants and this is one.

The food here was really good. Had one of the grilled chicken dishes for dinner and it was really good. It is a bit on the pricier side, but it was worth it. The place is a bit small and need reservation . They also have a wooden log cabin in the back for wines and have valet parking which... More

Probably one of the best spots in Birmingham. Restaurant has an extensive wine list. Lasagna does not have ricotta, so, yeah, this is a real plus but the red sauce is very garlicky which is not Italian. I also had the "gelato" for dessert which is not quite a gelato, not even a gelato trying hard to be honest but... More

This is one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a very long time. Service was prompt and courteous. Food was totally excellent. We arrived in a timely manner for our reservation and were promptly shown our table. We were handed menus and a very extensive wine list. Water and bread were produced and the waiter arrived to... Gianmarco's is a great place to eat! Even though it is an Italian restaurant, they usually have a Thai dish that is phenomenal! A great place for a casual dinner with friends or a special occasion.

Best Italian food in the deep south and at a value. This is easily one of my favorite Italian restaurants anywhere. My wife and I decided to do something different and order two appetizers versus our usual addiction to the exquisite caesar salad. She ordered a goat cheese crusted with toasted pistachios alongside arugula and watermelon slices drizzled with balsamic.... More
