Wife loved her food: tomato & fresh mozzarella salad, baked manicotti. Mine was just ok: Caesar salad not enough dressing, spaghetti & meatballs, didn't eat meatballs due to weird flavor. We didn't have reservations so sat at tiny table in bar area. It was crowded and loud with people coming in and out right next to our table, but we... More

I took co-workers out for holiday lunch and was impressed. This is a very small place but i think that is part of it's charm. The wait staff was exceptional and the food was delicious. Prices are on the high side.

We were on an overnight in Birmingham, and since we do truly love 'real' Italian food, decided to give this place a try. Boy, were we glad we did! The place is tiny - which is perfect for an Italian restaurant. You can see the cold cases where the meats are kept; you can watch the chefs work on your... More

You should go! Very homey (and crowded! Wow!) Italian restaurant...went with a big group and everyone cleaned off their plates! Nice, reasonable wine list...they even had a Rosso di Montalcino...(i.e.baby Brunello) which EVERY Italian restuarant should have on their list and very few do. My snapper was just so-so, but the pasta "purses" stuffed with gorgonzola and pear in a... More

I love the food here what else is there to say? The Italian cuisine is great, mid priced but well worth it. Make a reservation just in case, they are a busy place. Busy as in seats full not loud and hustlin.

Along with excellent food, they are so friendly. The bartender actually ran outside around the building to tell me a table was ready, and they packed and very busy at the time.

Best Italian in Bham. Daily specials never miss and the mac & cheese is sublime. Reservations are needed a couple weeks in advance for both small and large parties.

We love dining at Gianmarco's and wished we lived closer & that we remembered to make reservations farther in advance since it is so popular. The food is always authentic Italian and they have an outstanding wine list which is reasonably priced. I agree with other Trip Advisor contributors about service being an issue. Typically, service is only an issue... More

Great Italian food and usually great service. This is a small and popular place but worth the hassle to get in.

The meal and the friendly staff here never disappoint. I have tried a variety of menu items and they have all been wonderful.
