Orange Rolls to die for!

Savages is my treat for myself on a crazy day - their orange rolls are the best even if they are a day old!

Their cakes are so good and so beautiful. I also think their cookies are wonderful, and my kids have always especially loved their smiley face cookies.

Always get the white cake with white icing every chance I get it is the best I have ever had. The orange rolls are also very good along with the cup cakes and cookies. The sandwiches are also very good.

If you like baked goods, don't miss Savage's in Homewood. Their cinnamon rolls are nothing short of amazing, but they offer many different cookies, cakes and pastries. On my last visit, I bought a cake for my mother's birthday. They personalized it while I waited.

A nice place for a leisurely breakfast. The almond meltaway pastry was delicious, as was the cinnamon one and the raspberry one. Place your order at the counter, while looking at the selection.

Nice local bakery with good, though expensive, selections. Interior is a little dated and not particularly inviting, but the bakery treats are wonderful.

So...what's a melt away? It's a type of pastry that looks a bit like a muffin but is flaky, buttery and comes in many flavors. We sampled them all, favoring the cheese and almond. So yummy. Savage's, a long time favorite of Homewood, has been in business for many decades, and the locals come here in droves. We read about... More

I have family in Birmingham so we visit several times a year. We always get a few dozen orange rolls...those are my absolute favorite. The different kinds of meltaways are delicious and so are the many different cookies we have tried.

Live out of town and every chance my family gets we go by to get things. The white cakes are awesome and the cookies are too. My wife loves the petufours and cupcakes.

Had lunch and also bought some melt aways. Everything was absolutely delicious. I would have given a 5 star review if we were goin strait off the food. However the young girl working the counter clearly missed the part of her job description that calls for "customer service". She was beyond rude and lackluster. Sad.
