While waiting for our hotel room to be ready we walked over and were looking forward to Down Home BBQ. We arrived at 10:25 am and were told we could have breakfast if we ordered right now or wait 30 minutes for lunch. One of us ordered breakfast with hash browns and the other decided to wait for... read more

Demetris BBQ was a frustrating experience overall. I order the brisket sandwich with a single rib plus a side of fried okra. A couple of annoying things about this place. 1. They put this white sauce on everything. It's atrocious. It's unnecessary. It's completely stupid. Their brisket is so tender and so perfectly smoked, I am absolutely clueless as to... More

While I enjoy fine dining at home and while traveling, there are few meals I look more forward to than breakfast at Demetris on Saturday morning. This is your classic greasy spoon, reasonably priced tummy filler location. From pancakes, to french toast, to hashbrowns, to biscuits, to the omelet which is my favorite. This is THE place for breakfast.

Went on Saturday for lunch. Staff did not seem interested or prepared. "BBQ" chicken was very tough and maybe barley cooked thru. No flavor except seasoning on the skin. Baked beans with pork in them were room temperature. Did mention this to the server, who asked if we wanted a different serving of beans. We said no. No adjustment made... More

I have been eating at Demetri's my whole life. Great smoked chicken, Smoked Turkey, Pulled Pork and Shredded Beef served with a tangy BBQ sauce. Sides are Greek influenced with their famous Greek style Cole Slaw and their Greek potato salad. Oh, and don't forget the best baked beans I've EVER had. Sweet with small chunks of beef, a meal... Good diner breakfast. Cathead biscuits, great French Toast, eggs anyway you want them. Come meet the regulars. Ask for Judy's table and tell her hello for me.

Tired of BBQ? Give Dimitri's in Homewood a try. Wonderful grilled vegetables. Great daily meat & two.I had the daily special of pot roast. Great home made mashed potatoes. The home made pies looked great too. Remember, they still have great BBQ. Made to order breakfast too. Enjoy!

I'm a regular for breakfast, 3-8 times a months for years. For the most part, it is a very good breakfast but there are several things that bug me. I hate waiting to pay for my meal! I'm though eating and I want to leave and I have to track down my waitress as she has to tab me out!... More

On Saturday at 9AM there was a wait but not long in this local barbecue establishment that also has a very good breakfast. It is not fast but the service is adequate. Recommended

Love to go to Demetris when visiting family in Birmingham. They have a great breakfast with an array of choices from traditional, pancakes, and my favorite homemade biscuits and gravy. If you get there late morning you can get them to fry you some homemade apple pies that are heavenly. A good Southern Breakfast.
