Peruvian!!

This restaurant is not your typical Mexican restaurant, by Latino they mean Peruvian and other Latino dishes and it's great. I had the Arroz con Mariscos and it was great, the calamari was a little chewy, but the flavors were great. Would go again

Mexican-Peruvian food of reasonable quality but service not quite the same. In fact, they brought me a different entree that I had ordered and took another 10 minutes to bring the right one! Nevertheles, it is the only place in Birmingham, Al to taste some of the exquisite Peruviuan cuisine.

This is a restaurant offering Mexican food and some Peruvian food. Extensively knowing how Peruvian food tastes as one of the best cuisines in the world, this place falls well below expectations for it. The adobo de cerdo was actually cutted pork chops with a different sauce and the Peruvian tamal did not taste as such at all. I guess... More

We've been going to Sabor Latino for years. The atmosphere is pleasant—spacious, quiet, and relaxing. The food is excellent and the prices are fair. The menu offers numerous items we don't usually see on a Mexican menu. There is a special section for Peruvian dishes, plus a number of other offerings that have introduced us to South American cuisine. Each... More

Excellent Peruvian restaurant with Both South American and Mexican dishes. The food is always consistent and the prices are very reasonable. Try the aji de gallina or the mushroom, spinach quesadilla or really anything.

I love Peruvian and Mexican food. While it is true, a few small touches could really make this place great, the food is good. The prices are reasonable. Is it as good as what I get in Peru? No. Is it as good as what I can cook? No. But I went there for the food and to have an... More

Excellent Peruvian & Mexican food. Good service. Bottled beer (wish they had draft). Quesidillas and marinated prok were excellent. So was the Chile Relleno (may be one of the best that I have ever had). Decor is a little shabby, but still a fun place to go.

I’ve eaten at Sabor Latino Twice now, the first time the food was pretty good and flavorful, this second time.. Not so much, everything that wasn’t burnt black was pretty bland. This review is based on my August 11, 2013 visit. I had the Sabor Latino Fajitas; it’s a fajita mix with chicken, steak and shrimp. And as you can... More

Maybe I'm too used to the "real deal" in the Hartford, CT area that influenced my being less than satisfied with Sabor Latino. Instead of the traditional corn kernels and green sauce usually served, tortilla chips and salsa graced the table. I assume that is from the Mexican side of the menu but when I asked about the kernels, the... More

Many Mexican restaurants are very similar, most I have visited offer good to very good fare, so this is not unique. Sabor Latino is a bit diffierent... a Peruvian/Mexican restaurant. The owners and staff are friendly, the food is good, the surroundings are low key, which has a great appeal to me. If you are looking for a 5 star... More
