No substitutions, unless we do

One of our usual favorites in Gulf Shores. My wife is a vegetarian and there are not many suitable entrees on most menus down here. Even though every page of the menu states there are no substitutions, we asked if it were possible to get the fried green tomato appetizer on a PoBoy. After checking... read more

Our first stop in Gulf Shores wasn't the best one. First, it must be said that the servers were super-courteous and very very nice to us. And the food came out really quickly. We hit the place about lunch-time, and beat the crowd which seemed to hit pretty fast after opening. I tried the shrimp, oysters, and fish which was... More

Short story: the food was pretty good but the service was so terrible we will never go back. Long story: The restaurant was not crowded at all when my family (2 adults, 2 small children) arrived (4:45ish). We ordered and the waiter seemed off. Brought our drinks and took our order without writing it down. When he brought or salads... More

We have been eating here for 15+ years and are so sad that our most recent visit was a huge let down. 1) One person in our group had talked about eating the onion rings from the time we departed for the beach- at least two days. She was super disappointed. They were completely different and were cold and hard.... More

We've been here a few times over the last few years but were disappointed on our most recent visit this week. Prices are high for "fast casual" food. My fish po-boy was $15 and was mostly bread. It came with a small portion of soggy fries and slaw. My wife had shrimp and wasn't impressed--you can find better. Kids meals... More

The $9.99 for a dozen oysters caught our eye...and well...I guess you get what you pay for. We tried a number of dishes, all were disappointing. When they say "buffalo" shrimp...it's just that, shrimp drenched in buffalo sauce. The service is great, just need to revamp the menu, a little too bland/basic.

This used to be one of our favorite places even though it's always been overly expensive. The manager--Gina--is no longer there and does it ever show. The food is markedly worse in the past few months and, unless the owners get back to being involved and raise the bar, we are done eating here after 20 years! Very frustrating experience... More

My son took me and his daughter here Thursday night (3/26/15). We didn't have to wait to be seated even thou it was very crowded but we did have to wait probably 30 mins. for our food but it was worth the wait. We have been coming to the AL coast for years but this was our 1st visit to... More

This was our 3rd time eating at King Neptune's in the last 4 years. Our whole family loves this place! It's small and casual but they have great food. We have had the crab legs, fried shrimp and the Royal Reds. All were excellent. If you have not had Royal Red shrimp before, you should try them. The waitress warned... More
