My husband and I loved this De Soto's. The food was fabulous and the service was good. The owner was very friendly and helpful with the choices. It may not be the "newest" but in my opinion one of the best besides LuLu's. I will be back and looking forward to it.

Just a regular fried seafood place. It had panelling and old style of beach decor. Hotel recommended it based on their customers remarks. It does have a senior citizen hour so that may explain although we were told rated #1 for Gulf Shores.

The bread was good and served hot. The servings were large. But everything was pretty mediocre, from the musty smell, to the cracked tablecloth to the the food...creole chicken that was tender, but drippy and not that good. They did get me some soda water, when it dripped on my shirt, which was nice My mom loved the sweet potatoes.... More

By far the most reasonable place to eat. Never a bad meal and price is best for seniors. Great sea food at great prices.

Reminded us of just a local place, clean but not fancy and everyone was friendly. Our food was great, parents enjoyed the senior menu. My coconut shrimp was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive. We had read reviews and agreed it was worth the drive from Orange Beach.

I met a lady on the beach and when discussing places to eat she recommended De Soto's. so glad we went. The service is fast and friendly and the food delicious. Hubby had some ruby reds that he said were delicious. I had salad with pecan crusted chicken tenders. Prices were bery reasonable.

Food is great, reasonable and outstanding service. Chris and Rosemary have built this restaurant into an icon in Gulf Shores. A locals and snowbird favorite. Lots of entrees to choose from. Enjoy...you will be back.

We drove 35 miles out of our way to eat here and had a wonderful meal. I read the recent reviews as we have not been in Alabama for 3 years and had to laugh. I am a senior citizen who didn't know they have a senior menu and I have over the years eaten everything on the menu. The... More

Wow, where do you start with a review of this place. I accept the fact that my review may be unpopular with the senior crowd that frequents this place, but so be it. Walking into De Soto's, the first thing I noticed was the filthy entranceway and worn-out carpeting. We stood in the reception area for several minutes as several... More

Went with a group of ladies that were in Gulf Shores for a ladies retreat. The service was great and the food was just what you want at the beach. An excellent place to take your family.
