Friendly atmosphere and good service

We stopped in Gulf Shores to visit friends and they took us to dinner at De Soto's. This is a local favorite with great service and good food. My flounder was perfectly cooked and my husband enjoyed his coconut shrimp. Not a big wine list, but they did have my favorite Pinot.

My wife and I enjoy coming to De Soto's usually. Sometimes, it isn't so fresh or the service isn't so great. But it has been a risk we are willing to take. The fried green tomatoes are outstanding. Coconut shrimp tasty. My wife has health conditions and can't eat much at one time and they are always willing to accommodate... More

Rustic type atmosphere with fast and friendly service. Meal started with 3 types of warm rolls. We each had a Riveria salad that was large and had fresh ingredients. Mine had grilled chicken which was juicy and tasty. My wife had the shrimp which were small but tasty and plentiful. Both had full stomachs at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

We had had several people mention De Sotos restaurant, so we gave it a try. Neither my husband or myself were overly impressed with the food. It wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. Also, I found the restaurant itself a little worn and tired. Will not be going back.

Great place to stop for a meal, from the time you walk in the front doors you feel welcome, the wait staff is very helpful and will answer any question you might have. We will be going back every chance we get

De Soto's was highly reccomended by a friend of mine so we thought we would try it. My wife ordered a steak and I had the fried seafood platter. There was more than enough food on our plates. We looked at her steak, which she ordered medium well, and said that is a big hunk of meat, I thought I... More

We went there on Feb 16 and enjoyed our meal. We especially liked the "senior menu" with reduced prices. Quality was very good as were the portions. I had the grilled flounder which was very tasty. You get a choice of two sides. We will be back.

The restaurant itself is nothing fancy. The service was good. The food was good. Coconut shrimp, steak, ma hi all were tasty. Warm bread. We had a table directly at the top of the stairs, where the air conditioner was blowing right on us. We did ask them if they could turn the fan/blower down and they did so it... More

Love the laid back atmosphere here, ask for Mary as your waitress. 3 kinds of bread, and a great cup of gumbo, fish, scallops, and shrimp, broiled not fried. I eat here whenever I'm in town
