We hadn't visited this restaurant before so we decided to try it on a whim. The view of the salt marsh set a romantic mood even for lunch. The restaurant was noisy but pleasant. The salad bar was a nice surprise with its wide variety of vegetables, pickles, dressings and toppings. The menu was very diverse and we chose the... More

We did not have to wait to be seated and our server was knowledgeable. We were not very hungry so we shared the shrimp dinner (22) and ate salad bar. The salad bar had many choices and was fresh. The shrimp were a bit chewy and seemed as though they had been frozen. We were seated next to the window... More

Disappointed that they didn't have more fresh seafood dishes to choose from. Everything was fried, battered, baked, or stuffed. On the positive, The wait time was nothing and the staff was friendly and fast. I would say now that we have been we won't go back.

We opted for this eatery as a lunch option. The service was fair to average at best. However the food was so lame? sorry? uninspiring? I had the sorriest excuse of amberjack, which was about the thickness and flavor profile of very fishy shoe leather. The cheese grits were 90% cheese and the same was true for the shrimp au... More

Went with friends for a late dinner, 9:00 pm. There was still a line but it took only about 15 minutes to get seated. They have pagers that work in the stores that are in the complex, so you can shop while you wait. Great idea! The menu was large and had a good variety for everyone. I got the... More

We've been coming to Gulf Shores for years and have been to nearly every tourist-trap restaurant in town EXCEPT "the Original Oyster House". We had friends in town - they wanted seafood and it was also Shrimp Fest so traveling about is somewhat restricted due to the event encompassing the Hwy 59 / Beach Blvd Intersection. We walked up Hwy... More

Lunch on fall break with the family. Glad there was no wait. Food was average. The gumbo had a strong file flavor, good if you like it. Limited non-seafood items. Good southern salad bar. Family enjoyed the walk around to the shops after dining.

1st time going and will always go back. Food was awesome and service was great. They show you how to make your own cocktail sauce.

kind of touristy chain type food. Nice overlooking small bay like area. The few shops on the surrounding boardwalk were nice to look in. In-laws loved their shrimp dinner.
