I could not tell the difference from the many times i have been to the French Market in N.O. In the Bruno's shopping center on 59 about a mile from the beach. Good coffee too!

Authentic, fresh beignets with a cup of Community coffee make me feel like I'm sitting in the French Quarter in NOLA. And that's what they've got here! Get a whole bag and take the rest back to your beach condo with you; they'll be a great snack in the microwave later or the next day!
The food is ok, nothing to get excited about, fried dough with powdered sugar...basically a square funnel cake. The amazing part of this "dinning experience" is the rudeness and incompetence of the staff. I'm not just talking about the waitress, the OWNER was in the dinning room, and was the biggest culprit. At least the waitress was smiling while she...

I do believe that these fresh made beignets might be even better than found in Nawleans!!! They open at 6:30 a.m., and close around Noonish, so come early for a great treat!
Tucked away in a small shopping center, it's well worth the search. Appears to be a couple who run it, and you can tell they have a lot...

The food was great. We ordered to go and from the moment I ordered the employees were rude. The old man cooking in the back made a stink face at my order and seemed pissed to make it. We sat at a table and waited for our food, when it was done they didn't bring it to us they rudely...

I had promised my kids an activity where they would get "messy" little did they know it involved powdered sugar. Love this little hole in the wall, the efficient way the staff keeps things moving as the beignets just keep coming out of the kitchen. Don't talk yourself out of a dozen, they will be eaten. And remember, this is...

Ordered a dozen plain beignets for breakfast this morning. They tasted good, very much like a square funnel cake with tons of powdered sugar. Seemed fairly priced under $10 with tax.
They were a no frills type of place. They had good service. Not to busy. The original beignet by the dozen to split with family was a good deal. They were a good close to the New Orleans original. Just the right amount.
Having had the beignets at Cafe Dumonde in New Orleans, we felt we had a good yardstick with which to measure those we ordered at Cafe Beignets in Gulf Shores. We were not disappointed. In fact, I enjoyed the experience more than Cafe Dumonde (just too hectic!) and the lemon-filled topped with strawberry syrup was to die for. My wife...

What a great way morning break: beignets and coffee and both are excellent here. Ok, maybe some might find them a little heavy on the powdered sugar but I loved them. YUM
