Great southern ambiance and food

I saw the reviews and pictures for this place and had to give it a try. I was visiting a friend in town and it was one of his favorites as well. I love southern specialties though I have lived in Asia for the last few years so I was looking forward to some catfish and hushpuppies. My wife and... read more

Food is always good. Cornbread, slaw and pickled onions served before the entree. Turnip greens are the best. And to top it off if you are cruising the Coosa you can pull your boat up to the dock and come in to eat.

We had the seafood platter which was more than enough for two. We also had the Rings & Pickles which were very good and it was a really big platter. Easy to find easy to park. Opens at 5:00 PM on Friday, but they let us in at 4:30. Service is really good and food came out quick. We will... More

Pleasantly surprised that the 2 of us were seated immediately around 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was nice, informative and prompt. He kept our tea glasses filled, a big plus! The complimentary slaw, cornbread and vinegar soaked Vidalia onions were as great as I remembered them to be. Which typically, Im no cornbread fan, but here, its just... More

Not being from the area, I had never heard of this restaurant. It was amazingly good. The grilled shrimp was AMAZING, as well as the scampi. My husband said the catfish was the best he has ever eaten anywhere. The wait staff was quick and very friendly, which is rare when a restaurant is really crowded. Overall, a great experience.

I was in town for just one day and decided to try this local favorite. Situated right beside a rather dark green river (murky), this place served skillet corn bread, fresh cole slaw and some fine fried catfish. The hush puppies were tasty as well. I washed it all down with some refreshing iced tea. I enjoyed my meal very... More

We went to Top of The River on Sunday after church. It was very busy but we did not have to wait for a booth. The food and service was excellent. We had the grandbabies with us and they enjoyed the food and water. We will definitely go back.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have found it always to be a great experience. The most popular selection would be the Riverboat Special. The beans & greens are a step above as well. Portions are generous. Suggest off-peak times if possible. Sunday's and holidays are always packed

Been several times with family and friends. It is a most go whenever we are in town. Normally enough left for lunch the next day. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner. The restaurant was packed but the service was fast and wonderful. We both had shrimp; they were so fresh and arrived at the table still sizzling. We had onion rings for an appetizer. I have to say they were unique. Super thick, fresh, and crisp. We will definitely be back.
