atmosphere, American food

Fun downtown atmosphere, tasty food, service would be excellent anywhere else, but because service is so great in downtown Florence, it isn't the best. A visit here must include the skillet cookie for dessert

City Hardware knows its audience. The menu is comprised mainly of comfort foods (chicken tenders, burgers, meatloaf) with a few nice surprises (black eyed pea hummus, crab benedict). The wine and beer selection is fine and the setting is non-threatening. This is the perfect place for a family gathering as children, parents, and grandparents are all likely to find something... We went in for a light dinner and were greeted pleasantly at the door. Our server was also very pleasant and accommodating. We both had salads served with chicken that were nicely prepared and good sized portions. The restaurant has booths downstairs and tables upstairs. The kitchen is open plan so you can watch them cook. There is a full... More

The restaurant was packed but we still received our food in a timely manner, it was hot and delicious. Our server, Siler, had multiple tables and was able to balance them very well. The manager also took time to come by to make sure we were satisfied with everything. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Had never been and saw other favorable opinions online, so thought we would drop in. So happy we did. Started with shrimp appetizer and it was very good. Spicy but not overly so. It arrived quicker than anyone could have asked, so already I'm liking this place. Filet arrived, cooked to order and full of flavor. Had Parmesan grits as... More

Great service, very good food, fantastic casual atmosphere ..., definitely give this lace a try. Went for a late lunch; the ribs and pecan crusted catfish were very good. Hand cut fries were a plus. Menu has several options so you shouldn't feel limited and prices are reasonable. ... Forgot to mention the beer cheese soup. Yummy! Very rich, so... More

It's a wonderful location and a cool building. The burger was outstanding. Ground fresh, cooked medium rare and full of flavor served by a super friendly staff. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean despite a lunch rush. I'd go back anytime.

We were hunting a new lunch place in Florence so we tried City Hardware. It was pretty good. The guy who was the host wasn't friendly, our waitress, however was super nice. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were very good. I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and mashed potatoes as my entrée and it was... More

So my husband and I visited this place for our anniversary dinner based on recommendation of more than one local. I read the reviews which showed the place to be hit or miss. Ours was a miss. It was Monday night. Place was clean and staff friendly. Service was quick but the food was sub par. Fries had obviously been... More

We went to City Hardware for our anniversary. We chose to eat upstairs which is accessible by a small staircase. (There is also dining downstairs.) There is a huge window fashioned after a garage door but with glass and appeared it could be rolled up in warmer weather to make that dining section a balcony. We ordered hurricanes, grilled pork...
