3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2014 NEW

Group of 6 again for an early dinner (5:30) on a Wednesday. Only 3 - 4 parties in the restaurants when we were quickly seated. First of all the food (salads, entrees, sides, desserts) were excellent. However, the server made a possible 4 or 5 rating into a 3 at the most. She was always slow to return. The food... More

I had the hardware burger and oh my! It was sooooo delicious! Black truffle mayo and a runny egg! Yum!!! The the Singin' River porter, a local brew, was delicious! My husband had the fried green tomato BLT and he really enjoyed it! We both got the hand cut fries as our side and they were great! I don't think... More

Have wanted to try City Hardware for awhile, but it was always so busy when I was in town. Today was our lucky day! We had a delicious lunch, sharing a couple of dishes which were both very, very good. Love the atmosphere with the old brick walls, gas lamps, and the big garage door upstairs that they open up... I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. One of the best meals I've had in a very long time! The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs! Thanks for a great meal!

Had the chicken dinner with bieur blanc sauce and mashed potatoes and it was excellent. Trey was the bartender and made the recommendation. Great bartender and I don't even drink. My recommendation is that if you order this dish and the side salad, which was a lettuce wedge, you could truly feed both people and the total was only $25... More

I might even make a trip back to Florence just to eat here again. Wonderful service and a friendly staff. The food was fantastic. I had the 9oz sirloin with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes that had sautéed onions in them. Very good. The steak was cooked perfect for medium and had great flavor and was tender. I cleaned my... More

I visited City Hardware for dinner on the evening of October 24, 2014. Diners arriving after 7 p.m. were asked to go upstairs, and as I came up the stairs I heard a lovely female voice singing a Celtic-type tune...they had a university student, I suppose, playing the organ and singing slow, lilting and romantic songs, many of which were... this is a unique local place in downtown Florence. My favorite is the meat loaf! I have not had anything I did not like. Burgers, fries, pork...it's all good. Service is generally good...though It is not always speedy. Worth a visit for sure! Prices are reasonable too.
