Wonderful Buffet for Lunch

Great buffet selection, wonderful desserts and friendly service. Also, there is an air conditioned waiting area with benches, so there is no need to wait in the humid Recife weather. Like most of Recife, no English is spoken but the staff is so well organized that it isn't really needed.

Founded in 1995 in the neighborhood of Boa Viagem, near the Boa Viagem square and two blocks from the beach. The restaurant has a different proposal of self traditional services Restaurants, features a nice variety of salads, presented the regional food differently and international cuisine with a good Portuguese accent, sweets, cakes and juices add value to the meal. I loved the soups and desserts. The atmosphere is also excellent, as is the location. However, as I remember, it closes early. I believe at 9 p.m.

I am staying at the new Marriott hotel and wanted something nearby. The hotel recommended Chita Pitanga and it was a good choice. It is not fancy, but it is clean and the food is very good. They offer some nice regional dishes, along with other typical dishes. PLEASE NOTE: they only take VISA, so it's either cash or VISA.

We enjoyed the buffet so much that we went to the restaurant twice during our four day stay. The quality and variety is great as are the deserts. As compared to the regional buffet at Parraxaxa which also close by, the quality is much better although Parraxaxa has more seating and a better choice of drinks. As is typical in... More

The food is very good! That are a lot of types, salads, typic cousine, pasta and meat. The service not so much. They just acept Visa and money. No valet - parked in the street.

Being in Recife for the second time, can't believe I missed this one. What a selection of food, this buffet style is a little different from the "buffet-style-restaurants" it's not all you can eat in one price, you weight your plate and pay by the weight. the variety is so huge that if you try a little bid of everything... I used to live in Recife and Chicago is on my top 3 list so I always go back when I visit the city. They have great variety, full of flavor regional dishes and salads, and amazing cakes and desserts.

Chica Pitanga uses the buffet style for food as is typical here. The variety and quality of food is excellent, with fresh salads, pastas, meat dishes, fish, seafood, desserts, and fresh juices. Everything I tried was of excellent quality. Great seasoning, not salty (often a problem with restaurant food in the Northeast of Brazil), great diversity of menu items, etc.... More
