I used to live in Recife and Chicago is on my top 3 list so I always go back when I visit the city. They have great variety, full of flavor regional dishes and salads, and amazing cakes and desserts.

Chica Pitanga uses the buffet style for food as is typical here. The variety and quality of food is excellent, with fresh salads, pastas, meat dishes, fish, seafood, desserts, and fresh juices. Everything I tried was of excellent quality. Great seasoning, not salty (often a problem with restaurant food in the Northeast of Brazil), great diversity of menu items, etc.... More

Always when in Recife i have to go either for lunch or supper(ceia regional), the food is delicious, several options and its a self service...but all impeccably clean and tidy...and pricey for by kilo standards! I absolutely love it...avoid early hours at lunch...can be crowded...

Clean, great food and friendly staff. Typical regional dishes and varied salad buffet. Best lunch we had in Recife by far.

Good food, with a nice cost-benefit and you can taste different dishes from northeast of Brazil. clean and pleasurable. Attendance could be a little better.

If pay-by-weight were to become fine dining, Chica Pitanga would be its best representative. Flawless food and great variety. Perhaps a bit pricy, but worth every penny.

It's a self service restaurant, where the food is ready and you choose what you're gonna it! The place is lovely, well decorated, and the food is fresh and well prepared! Absolutely recomended!

At nearly 60 reais per kilo, this is one of the more expensive pay-by-weight restaurants around, but it is just about worth the price. A broad (although not amazingly so) choice of salads, mains and sides is very well prepared indeed, including shrimp, fish and prime steak. On the dark side comes a rather cramped space, and add small tables... More

I had the best meal in a self-service pay by the pound "restaurant" at Chica Pitanga. Yet, I really don't want to consider this a restaurant it is more a very up scale fast food venture. The food and selection is great. Good service and wonderfully presented buffet. There are cold salads of all types as well as hot food... More
