Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good. But it's not amazing compared to several other restaurants in the region - but the prices are way higher. On top of that, the dishes serve two, they don't make half a serving. Are you alone as I was ? Sorry, they don't really care.

I ate at Bargaco with a friend, who had was leaving after two years in Recife. We were both looking forward to a bit of spice, a rarity in the North-East (short of heating it up yourself with some pimenta). Cannot fault the service and attention, but the food really didn't excite me. We had a soft shelled crab dish... More

Just to think about that "sinfonia maritima" ( a seafood stew in coconut sauce ) makes me drool! I love this place, the service is really good, friendly courteous people. Can't wait to go back!

Its a little expensive but the food is delicious! I really recommend to drink the caipiroscas . They are so good! Because they use fresh and tropical fruits, they are very refreshing!! Also I recommend the moqueca de peixe and casquinho de siri as appetizer.

I had the Shrimp Termidor during a business trip. The shrimp were so big and juicy. It was probably the best shrimp that I've ever had during my travels in Brazil. However, this was one of the most expensive restaurants that I have ever been to in Brazil. My entree cost 117 BRL. I ordered an appetizer which consisted of... More

Comfortable place, terrible service on busy days (holiday + Saturday luchs) but nice Brazilian food. Recomend sea roasting fisch. Note that plates are for at least 2 persons if very hungry! Caipirinhas are good but very strong.

Try the 'seafood soup' for two. Nobody speaks or tries to speak English.... so bring your Portuguese translator. Expensive but worth it. A little tricky to get here as it is on a one way road.

First dining experience in Recife for these gringos, taken there by long-time Recife residents. Simple, clean and pleasant environment, quiet. Extremely attentive service without being cloying, and very fast food delivery (which in our experience is unusual in Brazil). Best part of the experience was the food - wonderful fish soup as a small appetizer (like a crab gumbo?) and... More

This was my second experience at Bargaco. The grill fish was wonderfull and wonderfully done. The caipirinha was perfect. Service splendid. The location is a little bad: you cannot walk to the place and the taxi back to the beached (Boa Viagem, Piedade etc) is a long trip (you need to cross a long bridge to be able to come... More
