Our guide recommended Zaranj for lunch after we visited the Indian Museum in Calcutta and we weren't disappointed. It's right next door to the museum. The food and service were excellent and the restaurant was quite comfortable. While not particularly inexpensive, the meal was well worth the price. I recommend the lamb and chicken biranyi's and the wonderful selection of... More

Visiting Zaranj was an experience to me :) Good and courteous staff, royal utensils, antique furniture and interior will give you a royal vintage feel!! Quality & quantity of food... both are too good! But a bit expensive... We had Naan, Polao, Kali Dal, Murgh methi Malai, Machli masala kebab made of real Bhetki, Malai Kulfi.... all were mouth watering... More

I visited Zaranj after possibly a decade. Unfortunately, there is a marginal deterioration in a number of areas, like staff warmth, ambiance and mainly food. However, still the food is good and one can try any item from the menu and expected to enjoy the meal. The staff looks less enthusiastic to serve and appear to just do his job.... More

You have to visit this place for hardcore north west frontier cuisine. You don't get better food than here. The Kebabs, the dal, the lachcha parantha! Do try the shorba's. they are heavenly The service used to be stellar, but have gone down a wee bit in recent times, but the food, the experience all are untouched!

Fine dining is supposed to be expensive. .but this place is really costly. The food was very good. Tried the kebab platter and hyderabadi mutton biryani. And tandoori rotis with north Indian style gravies of chicken and mutton and paneer. Very nice food. The decor is splendid. The staff polite and helpful.

A nice Indian restaurant very famous in the early 2000s. A little dated, but serves some excellent dishes. Must try the Dahi Kababs and Masala Kulcha
