"The green-grilled mishti shop at 56 Ramdulal Street is simply called Nakur, short and (very) sweet. Peering through the iron, glasses perched on his nose, Victor picks up one of their best-selling items, Jol Bhora Norom Pak, gives them a thumbs up, and gulps down the sandesh. From a two-item menu consisting of Kada Pak and Monda back in 1844, to 2010 where Chocolate Sandesh can compete for the number one spot, Nakur has come a long way." -- The Telegraph.

I have taken items from them for the past 30 years. Their quality, authenticity are unquestioned. They have branches in the south, centre and north.

165-year-old Girish Chandra Dey and Nakur Chandra Nandy, asks in his sarcastic best: "Does south Kolkata make sweets?" You will allow the man his snobbery, given that their golai pera, jolbhora, parijat, kasturi, ratabi sandesh have survived over a century and continue to attract people. They introduced norom paker jolbhora sandesh the watery filling in a softer crust, as opposed... More

One of the oldest and most sought after sweet shops of Kolkata. Unlimited variety of mouth watering sweets are available here. They have come up with so many varieties and innovations with passing time. I love bengali sweets snd can thrive on this place's rosogolla, sondesh, jolbhora, mishti doi etc etc. Must visit if you have a sweet tooth.

No doubt that I had the best bengali sweets here. Loved their sandesh and everyone visiting Kolkata should try their sweets.

I had gone to this so called Kolkata institution expecting the best classic Bengali sweets and was rather shocked to see their food coloured pink, purple, orange, yellow fare! The only thing I enjoyed was the norom pak aam sandesh. Everything else had either butterscotch in it, or multi coloured layers. Quite disappointing!

A very old and reputed confectioner, providing a plethora of delicious sweets. Fusion with modern concepts is also available.
