Small place by a great Chef

This place is operated by a famous chef. His food are really innovative and often great fusion food. Fusion of Bengali and Continental. Great food but a bit expensive. Must visit when you are in south Kolkata around Gariahat or Ballygunge.

I have been avoiding writing this review for a few years now. The only reviews I ever write are for places I absolutely love (or atleast like) because there really is no joy in bad-mouthing anyone. I'm writing this review today because I feel it's a complete and utter shame that a place where I enjoyed the food so much,... More

Bohemian is a fusion restaurant and the dishes served are very different from what regular places serve. Its up to each person's personal taste that will appeal to it. Its a upscale restaurant but if you wish to experiment with food and not bother about prices this is the place to be. The ambiance is ok and the place is... More

As a new fusion bangali cuisine, it's done pretty well.. Prices match the food, so there's no complaining.. The crab and lamb dishes are.nice.. Well cooked.. Ambience is okay okay, contemporary.. Friendly atmosphere... All in all good experience that one can go back to again and again!

A highly exaggerated place, pricey and with a clustered menu. Decor is very nice but the food isn't worth a revisit.

I went with my friend to this restaurant in Kolkata.......after being in India for 6 months, curry starts to lose it's appeal! What a nice place: small, intimate with the most interesting fusion Indo/Mediterranean menu. I had the steam fish with a Bengal Berry jus, basmati rice and julienne vegetables, absolutely divine! And what a fresh new approach to Indian... More

Chef Joy is my favorite !! His versatility in the kitchen is unparalleled !! The fish and prawn concoctions in sauces one has never had before are simply divine. Even his pork and pizza preparations are enjoyably different Located in Ballygunge and with additional seating in the newly expanded property makes it very convenient to visit A must visit restaurant... The new menu in Bohemian is absolutely cutting edge bengali cuisine . Using local and sustainable products chef joy has designed a remarkable menu which involves the esential bengali ingredients with an awesome touch on presentation . The cumin smoked fish with cumin smoke wafting around was delectable and so was the cauliflower dhoka which reminded me of fresh homemade... More

There is so much advance publicity (mainly word of mouth) that we just had to visit this restaurant. We have been there three times, and each time the food has become less tasty. The portions have also become smaller, especially the mutton dishes. The service staff are not particularly well-trained and are not really attentive.

Marrying cuisines, if done write can be an experience worthy of heaven. While not quite that, Bohemian makes a decent attempt. It marries Bengali food with experiments from around the world. So you'd have a steak in Bangla sauces and panna cottas with tobacco infusion. But they pull them off, as other worldly as they sound. I for example tried... More
