I had visited Komala villas in Singapore a year back and had loved their South Indian fare so the moment I laid my eyes on banana leaf(Komala villas) in rashbehari avenuue, I knew I had to go in again. This place has been highly recommended by zomato and rightly so. Even though Kolkata has no dearth of south Indian food,... More

We get to eat authentic south indian food out here apart from dosa, idli, vada uttapam, they even serve various south indian meals which is a complete thali with different dishes which makes it a complete meal. After the food one should try the coffee or the horlics which they serve is really tasty.

Ad usual whenever in Kolkata and planning to have some authentic South Indian dishes, Banana leaf is remembered. Food was really good but this time I noticed that the curd portion of Dahivada was too liquid. It should be little more thicker.

We keep going back to Banana Leaf. That is even after the fact that we feel like the Satyajit Ray “Ashani Sanket” experience, a movie based on the great Bengal Famine of 1942. You sit in an “AC” restaurant and dine to glory, while long queues of impoverished, hungry, thirsty and impatient diners wait long for their turn. Of course,... More
