If in Calcutta, this is the best place to eat! We stayed for a few days as a family of 7. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We tried a range of curries and naan, pancakes and lassi drinks (like a smoothie). Try the mango lassi and the garlic naan. After trying the naan... More

I've been here over a dozen times between my two visits to Kolkata. Since the last visit they've updated their menu to include top-notch Italian cuisine, including some of the best penne al pollo I've had anywhere. Prices are slightly higher than other restaurants on Sudder Street and there is no alcohol offered here, but those were not deal-breakers for... More

I was in Kolkata a couple of weeks ago in the Sudder street area. Stopped in to the Blue Sky cafe and WOW!! It is as good as ever. Not as inexpensive as "street food" BUT the food is great with all sorts of "comfort food". Porridge and Lasi (plain) are not to be missed. The Chicken Syew was pretty... More

With western cuisine on the menu (pasta, milkshakes, sandwiches etc.) this was THE place for us to go after we'd been eating curry and rice for 3 weeks. It was nice to shake things up a little. It's a comfortable distance, just around the corner actually, from the New Market so if you're planning on doing some shopping this is... More

I would definitely recommend this place to the newly arrived backpacker, a great place to come and try local food whilst working up the courage to sample to delights the hoards of street vendors have lined up for you. This was probably for me one of the friendliest places to eat in Kolkata. The food is good, the service better... More
