6 Ballygunge Place is the flagship restaurant of Savourites Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. Till 2003, Kolkata did not have any specialty eatery worth the depth of Bengali cuisine. Savourites came with a unique blockbuster named after the address "6 Ballygunge Place". A specialty eatery serving Bengali cuisine was commissioned after thorough research into cookbooks of the Tagore Era. As they say 'the rest is history'. Today 6 Ballygunge Place is housed in an exclusive Rai Bahadur Bunglow, 100 years old and retained the Old World Charm in architecture and minimalist decor. Visit the place and savor the authentic Bengali Cuisine at its best.

Excellent Food-Superb expensive

This place serves traditional & authentic bengali dishes. Food is excellent & ambiance is also too good. But obviously it comes at a price which is on higher range. For one person bill can usually range between 1000-2500 based on the delicacy that you are ordering,

I had lunch at 6 BP during a recent trip to Calcutta earlier tis year. The food was delightful and the assortment of dishes exemplary. Even if India is changing and western style food is fast becoming fashionable, this place reminds you of authentic home made Bengali food of our grandmothers that you can only dream about. I keep on... More

This is one of my favourite joints in Kolkata for typical Bengali food. The chingrir malaikari is by far the best option here. You should also try betkir paturi as a starter. Don't forget nalengurer icecream for dessert. Price are also reasonable.

6 BP has come a long way. From being one of the first of the now endless bengali food chain to carving a niche market for their signature dishes, the journey has been quite good for 6 BP. Their signature dishes include dab chingri, chingri kabab, fish fry, posto bora (fried poppy balls), chitol macher muitha (fish curry), mutton dakbangla,... More

this place serves excellent dishes. one can get all the classic bengali dishes here, which are also exquisite in taste. as cooking of the classic old bengali dishes at home are being less frequent for many people, this place is the replacement for them. prices are a bit on high side but the food is up to the mark.

If some one want to have real bengali cuisine, this is a place to go for. I was surprise to see 'Baigun Bhaja' as a dish to have & surprisingly - taste wise awesome.
