6 Ballygunge Place is the flagship restaurant of Savourites Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. Till 2003, Kolkata did not have any specialty eatery worth the depth of Bengali cuisine. Savourites came with a unique blockbuster named after the address "6 Ballygunge Place". A specialty eatery serving Bengali cuisine was commissioned after thorough research into cookbooks of the Tagore Era. As they say 'the rest is history'. Today 6 Ballygunge Place is housed in an exclusive Rai Bahadur Bunglow, 100 years old and retained the Old World Charm in architecture and minimalist decor. Visit the place and savor the authentic Bengali Cuisine at its best.

If you are looking for a traditional Bengali meal, cooked home style (with some flourish of course!), then look no further than 6 Ballygunge Place. This has been the place where you take your friends, from other parts of the world, to introduce them to the world of Bengali cooking.

6 Ballygaunge Place is a favourite haunt for our family. We opt it for any occasion. This restaurant has sometimes buffet and a la carte option for lunch. The food is very authentic here, particularly shukto, parshe borir jhol, ilish, gondhoraj bhetki. Last time, we celebrated our parents' 40th anniversary here. But the hilsa preparation was average. In lunch buffet, you... More

I visited '6 Ballygunge Place' to enjoy their Poila Baisakh celebrations. They have interesting theme, promoting artists along with their food. The walls of the restaurant have become a virtual art gallery with paintings by Himsikha, Shubla, Barsha and Sutapa. The Naba Barsho festival usually sees people from different places and ethnicities coming together, who have one thing in common:... More

This place is a great place if you want to taste typical bengali cuisine. The ambience is also very good and brilliant hospitality. Food is awesome. Little bit expensive but worth of every penny. Try to make an advance booking if you are visiting on holidays because it expects huge rush in festive days and holidays.

My 19 year old son, Archie, and I had dinner here on the recommendation of my niece, Olivia, who had eaten here a few months ago. We took a taxi from the Oberoi Grand, which was wise as the restaurant is in the southern suburbs We enjoyed a very good meal of dhaniya and dii mrugi, Gondharj chicken, Kachalanka Dhonepata...
