I visited '6 Ballygunge Place' to enjoy their Poila Baisakh celebrations. They have interesting theme, promoting artists along with their food. The walls of the restaurant have become a virtual art gallery with paintings by Himsikha, Shubla, Barsha and Sutapa. The Naba Barsho festival usually sees people from different places and ethnicities coming together, who have one thing in common:... More

This place is a great place if you want to taste typical bengali cuisine. The ambience is also very good and brilliant hospitality. Food is awesome. Little bit expensive but worth of every penny. Try to make an advance booking if you are visiting on holidays because it expects huge rush in festive days and holidays.

My 19 year old son, Archie, and I had dinner here on the recommendation of my niece, Olivia, who had eaten here a few months ago. We took a taxi from the Oberoi Grand, which was wise as the restaurant is in the southern suburbs We enjoyed a very good meal of dhaniya and dii mrugi, Gondharj chicken, Kachalanka Dhonepata... I've been here for dinner to try on Bengali food after recommendations by various food/travel websites. Was a mouth watering experience indeed. Interesting array of bengali delicacies, courteous staff, helpful, if you are first timer, they will help you to pick the best recommendations. Go for the fish. Must visit on your trip to Kolkata.

They have got two branches - one at South Kolkata and the other at Salt Lake (Near City Centre). I like the place for their delicious Bengali dishes, sometimes almost extinct preparations cooked and presented nicely. A word of caution - In the Salt lake outlet though the seating capacity is about 100/120, but on holidays it is better to... More

6 BP as we called it is always been a good place to have good bengali food. I liked the Mourala Peyaji, Dhonepata Lanka Murgi and the Elish Pulao. These are my all time favourites. They also serve a sumptous buffet lunch during weekdays. I happen to be there for lunch a couple of times. It is really good value... More

Went to the Salt Lake branch on 15 Mar, 2015 for lunch. Total no. of persons=6. We did not book a table in advance. But luckily, we got a table very quickly. We started with bengali fish fry and vetki fry. Then had a peas kachuri and cholar dal. After that, we had basmati rice, moog dal, jhuri aloo bhaja,... More
