Excellent Bengali food

Yes it is expensive, but you get the best fish here. Be it bhetki or hilsa, Marco Polo does not disappoint at all. The most value-for-money dish would be a grilled bhetki dish that would serve two for just 500bucks. A pleasant experience in all. Simply awesome, as a Bengali family restaurant.

It may not be the cheapest option in the city, but we ate here twice in the company of locals which is always a good sign. The menu included a good variety of local food and there is a quiet and calm atmosphere. Personally I found their potato Provençal starter and grilled bekti (local fish) to be excellent. Recommended!

I see that there are two Marco Polo restaurants listed. I hope this is the correct one but it is a lovely little restaurant tucked away in a quieter area with the most knowledgeable Maitre d' who made our visit very successful indeed. We did have a friend with us who knew the restaurant well so we probably got better... More

It's a real nice place with wonderful interior and nice ambience. The Chinese was awesome, specially the shredded lamb. It was awesome and the bar section is well maintained,

Had an opportunity to dine at this well-known restaurant recently. The décor was soothing & offered glimpses of the adventurous life of legendary travellers. The service was efficient with suggestions on the items in response to guests’ enquiries. We tried continental dishes complemented with mocktails & found the quality of ingredients were of a high order. The preparations were superb... More

This place has both Italian and Tandoori Indian food and some other stuff that masquerades as 'continental'. Prices are high but the service is quick and the servers extremely helpful and polite. We had grilled pork chops and chicken poivrade both of which were accompanied by garlic bread which we thought were on the house till the bill came! The... More

This is located on the Sarat Bose Road near the Barista outlet. Decor is minimal but elegant. It is a multi cuisine restaurant, however, we settled for Indian mughlai food. Needless to mention, the food was awesome. My friend who is a non vegetarian loved their starters. However, they are priced slightly on the higher side. All in all, a... More

I went for lunch sometime back here. The food was quite good. We ordered for North Indian food. But it's quite expensive. Even during their Hilsa festival, the size of hilsa was not though very big, the price was quite expensive for a piece. But one can try it. It's quite good

It was a balmy evening and we were just craving for something Italian in south Kolkata. Circling around the Sarat Bose Road area, we were nearly at a loss and had nearly resigned ourselves to a dinner that involved Chinese characters! Thankfully, Marco Polo appeared as a saviour and after parking our car in an alley, we ventured in for... More
