Evening Snacks at ‘ Mitra Cafe’

If you love things like Chop & Cutlet, you will definitely love this place. MITRA CAFE located near the shovabazar metro station. I had been there on numerous occasions. My all-time favourite was their Fish Diamond Kabiraji & Fish Diamond Fry. The Diamond Kabiraji had a nice crunch, even though... read more

One of the best place in Calcutta to have evening snacks specially if you like chops & katlets. I have been here several times. Specially, i like the brain chop and fish kabiraji.Though it is not vary spacious and sometime you might need to wait to get a seat but worth a visit for food quality and taste and that... More

I love fish delicacies... .But believe you me Mitra is a heaven for fish lovers..be it Fishfry, fishroll, fish cutlet, kavirazi. Ambience is not very appealing, located on a high street , space is very conjusted but the taste will definitely leave a mark. Fish lovers try it to believe it..

Don't judge Mitra Cafe only by appearance. You will certainly be wrong. A must visit for foodies. A heaven for Vegetable Chop, Egg Chop, Brain Chop, Mutton Kosha, Stew, Kabiraji with reasonable price. You may not like sitting arrangements, you may find it not very tidy but the outlet is always crowded. You will never be disheartened. The taste and the... More

Many of the old but famous restaurants in Kolkata are tiny and still maintaining the old style. Mitra Cafe is one of those. Situated close to Sovabazar Metro Station of North Kolkata (Calcutta), on the main road, it is easily accessible. However, due to the tiny size of the restaurant , one may have to wait if they want to... More

We visited this restaurant as a part of our "Heritage tour of Kolkata (Sutanuti)". We started from Shovabazar (Sutanuti Metro Station) and hence visited this place for snacks. It is a small place with unattractive look and furnishing. But the food/snacks they serve are very good and prices are very reasonable. We liked the french toast, which looked like Kabiraji. This... One of the old time favourites, that has been there for ages, hundred years atleast. Though heard that it was renovated and changed recently. My favourite of this place is Prawn Kabiraji, which is just mind blowing, and fish diamond. All their other items are quite good as well, but these two are top of the mind recall. One of... More

This is one of those Legendary cafes we have got in Kolkata. I am sure every Kolkatan already acknowledges about this cafe and if you are a foodie then you must have visited the cafe. Running an eatery over a 100 years is not a matter of joke. So last month I was fortunate enough to visit the eminent "Mitra... More

Oldest branch is in Shyambazar which is more than 100 years old.. Food quality is very good.. I ordered Fish Kobiraji and brain chop... Though the later one is more popular but I didn't like it so much... Fish Kobiraji was excellent.. Ambiance of the restaurant need much improvement...

We were recommended this place as a value for money eatery. The first impression is that it is so. Basic furniture and decor, no frills. Menu has a wide variety but would advise that one should stick to Indian which is definitely better in this place provided you can enjoy the spicy food. Food is good but nothing to write... More
