I have been going there since 2006. The service and the ambiance was fine but the quality/taste seems to have gone down a lot recently.

The biriyani and kebabs are the best in kolkata. Must try! The service is good but the prices are reasonable.

If you love Biryani, then its HEAVEN, so during Kolkata trip this restaurant is a must visit. They are the masters of authentic biryani. If you are a veggie, then find another one..

Arsalan is well known and must visit for anyone visiting Kolkata for non vegetarian food. Unfortunately we landed there on a Thursday and did not get the famed mutton biriyani or even the lesser chicken biriyani as we were told that on Thursdays mutton and chicken are cooked in very limited quantities. Wonder if that is true, but if it... More

Just loved it......I have been living in Andhra Pradesh for the last ten years and obviously tasting biriyani from different restaurants but Arsalan's biriyani was done almost same way. The only difference I found was the potato halves instead of eggs to top the dish. Earlier wherever we tried biriyani in Kolkata the essence of rose (Atar) no one liked... More

If someone is visiting Kolkata and not visiting Arsalan then its a huge loss.. It has damn good biriyani which one can never forget.. It is also in Taratala.. I had chicken biriyani and the chicken was really good.. Biriyani was superb by default..

This is the best Dum Biriyani in Kolkata I can bet with anybody. Chicken chaap is also good, as well as the Kebabs, but this is famous for its Biriyani. Only bad thing is ambiance.

Never did mutton biryani taste so great as it did in Arsalan. Even if you have to have a single meal on your trip to Kolkatta make sure it is one of the biryanis from Aralsan. All my three days in Kolkatta I feasted on biyranis for my dinner. Strongly recommend the mutton biryani.
