Been following recipes from Ms M Das Gupta's Bengali Cookbook for years & in my numerous visits to the city of my birth I hadn't managed to visit Kewpie"s. Opportunity arose when my friend asked me where I would like to eat & promptly I told her lets go to Kewpie's. Surprisingly it was her first... read more

Loved the decor, the variety on the menu and the delightfully authentic Bengali food! We ordered the thali with a few extras. The steamed fish in banana leaf seasoned with a mustard paste was definitely the highlight though.

It was a post appraisal lunch for us , nearby our office , this place holds a good name. The elite south Kolkata locality and a 50's architecture will surely allure you when you will get inside of this place. No doubt that the ambience is sure to attract everyone, trying to portray a cross cultured upper class Bengali interior... More

Wide variety of Bengali dishes arrive with a thali, which comes veg, not veg, and two other varieties. Small dishes come in order, snacks to veg to fish and then meat. Not expensive, three persons ate three thalis for 2100 rupees. But have your drink before you go.

The traditional earthen ware used to serve the meals is very unique. The thalli concept is great and offers awesomely delicious food at good value for money. Best part is that thali menu is not completely fixed and one can choose many options from the menu to be included in the thali price. Huge variety of Fish, Prawn, mutton and... More

Kewpie's Kitchen is a charming old house converted into a nice thali restaurant. I recommend you order their Mithu's Maacher Thala, which is served with Flavorsome Gobindbhog rice with Ghee, choice of Vegetables, a choice of Fish curries, Luchas on a nicely cut Banana leafs in small earthen pots. Kewpie knows their Bengali fare and are proud of it. You... More

Good Bengali food in good traditional settings. Elegant ambience around. We ordered Fish Thala and Mutton Thala. More or less all the preparations were good but Daab Chingri was little disappointing. Chingri Malai Curry also could have been better. We took a friend from Mumbai there for treating him with Bengali Cuisine. He was happy. Overall Good experience.

No visit to Kolkata is complete without having tried the local fare.. This quaint restaurant is set up in a cozy little home. The set up is so simple yet elegant. But the food is simply outstanding. Since I am a vegetarian, I ordered a Niramish Thala. The choice of vegetables I opted for was dab jhinge, chorchori, doi baingan... More
