For 1st timers tasting bengali food it may be wonderful. But for me who is a hardcore bengali, the food is so so. Just for reference we took 2 nos. Macher Thala, 1 No. Amish Thala, and 1 No. Mangshor Thala. In Macher Thala you get 2 choices of fish, in Amish Thala you get 2 choices of fish and... More

In my last review I had complained about the food being served cold and was a tad bit unhappy about this place. This time , I seem to be more than compensated for my last experience. I had reached the restaurant about 3:45 pm famished after a meeting, only to be informed by a waiter that lunch hours are over... More

Kewpie's take a little time to find, especially of you come up the wrong road like us. You then have to walk down a long alley .. and there it is on your left ! :-) Since we had gone with a Bengali friend, we left the choices of ordering to her. Kewpie's serves some extensive thalis (a pre-set variety... More

This is small Bengali food restaurant. Decoration is good and they serve in old type clay pots . Food quality nothing special. Just average I feel but price wise it's seems expensive.

Kewpie's is my favorite restaurant in Kolkata. They serve authentic, homestyle Bengali food. The unique ambience of the restaurant comes from the unique setting (the groun floor of the owners house is the restaurant), lighting, the wall decorations, and the vintage red-oxide floors. The food is served on rustic terra-cotta. The hospitality is impeccable and the food is absolutely delicious.... More

I took some Thai guests on 9th July for dinner. We were total 7 persons and 3 were vegetarians. Their portions are tiny and extremely overpriced. Each non veg dish can be Rs 300 or more with taxes. The food was very oily . They charged for 100 grams misti doi Rs 95 which at Gangurams is Rs15. Sandesh was... More

Kewpie is a restaurant that one of my husband's friends took us to on a Sunday afternoon. What an absolutely lovely restaurant with such amazing food. I had the bedki fish and prawns with malai in my thali. The vegetables that were a part of my thali were so delicious and wholesome that I couldn't resist taking another helping. I... More

All reviews would speak brilliantly of the food in Kewpies... So I will refrain from repetition. Why I have been here many a times is for the warm ambience. The restaurant is pet of the owners home and very tastefully decorated. Warm lighting. Very comfortable and soothing to sit and chat with family and close friends. The thali is exhaustive... More

It is a great experience being here. Feels like I am in Kolkata's any old Rajbari. They served most of those typical Bengali foods and recipes. They also maintain the old pattern of the cups and plates. Food quality is ok, but little bit costly. Overall, it is a nice experience.
