We ate at Kunga's probably more than any other place in Darjeeling during our three weeks there. Why? Because the food is delicious and healthy, and the Tibetan family that runs this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is super friendly. They have delicious momos, and a variety of delightful hearty soups. For breakfast, try the their muesli - its different than anywhere... More

We ate here twice, and had different varieties of Tibetan soups. The Thenthuk soup is aaaawesome. The people who run the place were very friendly and tried to warn us from ordering Tibetan tea (with butter - definitely not for everyone). Highly recommended, especially on cold days when you just need comfort food that is still interesting and different.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in Darjeeling. It is tiny but the food is fresh and tasty. The family that owns the restaurant is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stop here. we also recommend the spring roll and the thuntuk soup any variety.

You'll eat here if you stay in Darjeeling. Its one of the two at the top of the hill. Love the tibetan food here and the warmth of the severs. Chairs are stiff and uncomfortable. Bathroom is through the tiny kitchen and its a squatter. Never mind, the ambiance is nice and the Dalai Lama's quote on the wall sets... More

The small eatery below the Dekeling Hotel is a gem for lip smacking Tibetan food. We had Honey Lemon Tea, Fried Chicken Momos, Thukpa, Mushroom & Chicken Fried Rice and Chilly Chicken.... All these were excellent, but the Fried Rice was simply out of the world.... The owner who sits at the cash counter (an elderly Tibetan gentleman) was extremely... More

This Tibetan restaurant is not a looker inside or out but the food we had was delicious. We ordered vegetable noodles, two sodas and their local dish of momos (steamed dumplings) between two people which came to approximately 350 Rupees. A great place to experience local food.

Kunga is a small friendly Tibetan restaurant. Every day we enjoyed a tasty and nutritious meal especially the hearty soups, chicken phing, fried rice and hot lemon drinks while the mist drifted past. One of the gems that made our long stay in Darjeeling in July and August a pleasure.
