I liked the simplicity of the place. Small joint run by family members. In peak time you might have to wait for your turn, but that's worth it.

For lunch one day our guide suggested Kunga Restaurant, which was right beside our hotel. We walked in to the small crowded room and all the tables were full. Our guide spoke to the proprietress, she spoke a few words to the room and half the people on the tables on left hand wall slid down and made room for... More

Please have some time in had before going as the restaurant is mostly full and you might need to wait a little before you can manage a seat..... we had american chopsey and some chicken side dish which were yummy.... we could not have momos (which I have read somewhere is their speciality) because of time constraint...... but overall ambience... Have been patronizing Kungas since my college days in Darjeeling. It's cozy ambience, delicious food and great vfm made it a favorite joint for young students like me and also foreign tourists looking for flavorful Tibetan food. The lady who owns it , cooked hherself. Called Aunty lovingly, her food is unbelievably delicious and healthy. I still go and eat there... More

Had a late lunch or early dinner here, whatever you want to call it, chicken corn soup was a bit heavy on salt but that's negligible when you have the other foods like chopsuey, momo and others...it's bloody brilliant, no wonder why they are having 3 years centre of excellence award. Highly recommended.

We went there for evening snacks. Tried a couple of Thukpas and momo. Excellent stuff!! Service is good....staff is polite and serve with a smile. Ambience is cozy (can think about cutting off the cold air a bit though). Coming to the food...it tastes really good and authentic...the momo crust was thin and the chicken filling juicy. The food was... More

Man, I wish I had not forgotten about Kunga's this afternoon. But then again, it would have been difficult to decide between Keventer, Glenary's and Kunga's. I had eaten here around 8 years ago and glad to see others also liking this cozy little place as much as I did then. I had stayed a December night in Darj and... More

Charming small restaurant where there`s always room for one more. Would recommend the spring rolls and dumplings! And they have great herbal teas.

push the door open, walk into the warm, cosy 06 table single room restaurant and you know you are at the right place. the entire family is always busy in the adjoining OPEN kitchen, the kitchen is if i may call hugely small compared to the number and variety of dishes they churn out in contained speed, never slow and...
