We wandered in at 9:30, so there were few diners in the restaurant. This meant that our service was outstanding, though I had the impression it would be very good regardless. I can't speak to the authenticity, but I can say the food tasted fantastic, and measured up to the cost. Lamb was falling apart it was so tender, and... More

We had a stop over in Chennai and wanted a relaxing lunch. This resturant offered the promise of authentic local food and had great reviews. We sat outside and enjoyed the garden atmosphere, the service and their food very much. We ordered off the menu but you also get a variety of little surprises, three different kinds of tasty papadoms,... More

Great place to taste authentic chettinad food and the best in Chennai. The presentation is execellent, the explanations on the food served is very good. The service is courteous, staff are warm, makes good suggestion. They are generous, serves more food than ordered. The ambience is not like a Chettinad house. A must visit to taste good quality food.

I have visited Raintree hotel for my cousin's wedding reception. The ambiance of the hall was extremely good, the infrastructure of the building was really impressive. Staffs working there were so amicable and treated us very well. They have arranged for Buffet lunch & there are lot of varieties of dishes with good taste. Really a good place to arrange... More

Always good to be in South Indian Metro City. On top added the charm of experiencing one of the most courteous services, thanks to Raintree ! Recommended

The rain tree remains exceptional. Right from the ambience to the service, and finally the food - all remain as good as ever. Along with the prawns and lamb, tried the duck roast which was very well made. Rounded off with the heavenly elaneer payasam, their signature dessert. Will surely visit this place again and again

Had a fantastic dining experience. When I ate here, the restaurant was far from full to capacity, and the servers gave me their full attention. The restaurant itself is stunningly beautiful. I was given a plate of poppadum/crackers as a starter, and chose homemade pickles, chutneys and podis from a large trolley, to accompany. Very delicious! I had a lamb... More

Yes. I always thought of the Connemara as "just another business hotel" and never set foot there. We went to take a look at the banquets, however, and stopped for a quick bite. The first surprise was the pathway to the restaurant. Flanked by stone pillars, dimly lit.. it was like we were miles away from the city. The restaurant... More

Great restaurant. The redone design is more modern and nice. Live music is gone which is a minus but it makes it easier to have a business conversation Very good service. Outdoor seating is nice but Chennai has mosquitoes. So better to be careful despite the great ambience
