I was at the new restaurant opened recently at the corner of Ranganathan Street in T Nagar. This is a new outlet and was a self service outlet. It had the usual simple setup and ambiance of saravana restaurants. In addition, for the first time, I saw combos being offered in this outlet. I chose one of the combos with... More

I started traveling frequently to Chennai with my family (wife and twin boys) since February 2013 (once every four months) and I can't think of a single visit to the city so far when we have not had at least one meal at Hotel Saravana Bhavan! From North Indian specialties to Chinese to South Indian meals to snacks to sweets... More

Six of us had been to Rangoli for dinner. The food is excellent on all the fronts (taste, presentation and value). The ambiance is quite pleasant. We were surprised to find food being served on silver cutlery. It was a very good experience and a must visit restaurant for people looking to eat authentic Gujrati food.

Whenever I visit Chennai, I try and make it to Saravana Bhavan. I like Mini Idly, Pongal, Pine Apple Rava Kesari and their Coffee. Sambar and Chutneys are quite good too. Service and Ambiance is decent... Ofcourse, they make good milk shakes as well... Pondy Bazaar outlet may become too crowded sometimes so avoid late arrivals. Instead you can try... More

I have been to Saravana Hbavan many a time in Pondy (Bazaar-Persian word in a Hindu desh- sic)in chennai.Cleanliness is getting worse.Waitrers and cleaning staff should change their uniform Frequently to look smart and appealing.there should be less handling of water glasses with fingers.they should adopt no touch technique to prevent the spread of bugs.Prices of of most of the... Excellent location though parking is tough. Hospitality is average. Rava dosa is excellent. In the air-conditioned ground floor it is very noisy in the light of music which is not audible and sound system is not good. Regarding non air-conditioned setup it is better not to visit because it is a corridor like set up with few chairs and tables.... More
