I have been to Saravana Hbavan many a time in Pondy (Bazaar-Persian word in a Hindu desh- sic)in chennai.Cleanliness is getting worse.Waitrers and cleaning staff should change their uniform Frequently to look smart and appealing.there should be less handling of water glasses with fingers.they should adopt no touch technique to prevent the spread of bugs.Prices of of most of the... Excellent location though parking is tough. Hospitality is average. Rava dosa is excellent. In the air-conditioned ground floor it is very noisy in the light of music which is not audible and sound system is not good. Regarding non air-conditioned setup it is better not to visit because it is a corridor like set up with few chairs and tables.... More

The restaurant is located on the crowded street - pondy bazaar and had been a first choice for many of us during the visit to T Nagar. The food is delicious although the quantity is getting reduced. The service needs improvement. It is always better to order the fast moving items rather than waiting for long time. Pricing is reasonable.

The service is bad in all Saravan Bavan. The waiter stares at you while taking order, no suggestions or friendly look. In place of them they can put self service kiosk monitors, they will be more helpful and friendly. This is same in fine dining like Swamvaram. Recently I went to their Annanagar, I was bluntly told to wait, as... More

We were a family of 5 and were there for dinner. The manager and other staff kept pushing us to try the dinner for 300INR. We had high expectations but the food tasted very bland/cold and the variety was not impressive. Although 5 of us originally intended to have the buffet we decide to go ala carte for the 3... More

This may suprise you as it does me. I have been going to Saravana Bhavan for the last 20 years and have had very little to complain. After back to back visits over the last few months i have concluded it is no longer the case. The menu for starters has been scaled down, the food has lost its flavor... More

Hotel Saravana Bhavan has a chain of restaurants in Chennai. All the restaurants make available typical South Indian food of fairly good quality and taste. The prices are relatively high. They are family restaurants. We like "Fourteen Idlies" -- small idlis fully dipped in piping hot spicy "sambar." The "sambar" served here is capable of making people addicted to its... More
