We stayed in Chennai for a week, and already visited this shop 4 times! The idli is the softest I've ever tasted in my life, had to go for seconds and thirds. Everything in the shop tastes fab, and the service is super fast....including the bill :)

Lovely breakfast, Amazing Vada & Coffee, and lovely location ! My Favorite one is in the Highway connecting to Bangalore and an ideal place for a coffee break after passing through the Chennai Traffic

My husband know this restaurant since a long time, and didn't have any problem before. But when we came for dinner on last august, the hospitality was deplorable. Actually I asked mini idly they told simply no, whenever others customers were still ordering this. The quality of the dosa that i ate was not exceptional. It's a traditional South Indian... More

Every time i travel to Chennai, Murugan idli shop is on top of my Lunch list. The best and the softest idlis served the authentic way on a banana leaf. Also try the medu vadai and there special shake. Must visit if you are in Chennai

Absolutely tasty south Indian food, especially very very fresh idlis. My wife loved idlis and she has been raving about them since then. I never liked idlis before but now I am also hooked.

Total contradiction to what coffee idlis medu vada or rawa dhosas or utthappam should taste like, The medu vada was far from medu(soft) It was like rock of gibraltar,, the utthappams were far from cooked and the rawa dhosa was soggy with ghee . Had a coffee while waiting for my take away order. Overpriced and luke warm, Madras filter... More

Surprising, I am not a fan of Idlis here. I love the other stuff though. The onion Oothappam is my favorite. Also Jigir Thanda the local speciality dessert from Madurai is available here. Place is noisy, crowded and service is fast. If you are looking for south indian tiffin and don't have much time, this is your place

Went to this place after a long day in this busy city. Quite an ordinary fare, but reasonably clean. Had Idli and dosa, some vada etc. Idli was soft, rest is not memorable. If you want a quick bite and a taste of local cuisine, an option.
