One of the best places to eat South India food but you cannot sit there and eat it. If you stay in Mumbai, you have to know about Madras Cafe. The biggest problem is that if you are looking for a Air Conditioner on the premises , tough luck. The decor has not changed for a million years. However the... More

Madras Cafe is that kind of place where you end up quite often to get the taste of good vegetarian south Indian snack foods at great value for taste and money. Try the Tuppa and the Ada Dosa as variants to the regular Dosas. The Podi Upma, on occasions, gives just the right amount of satisfaction to your senses. And... More

Superb food. Amazing, authentic flavour and experience. Just that it's been here for decades and so has been the humid Indian weather. Seating has improved a bit, but it still lacks in the ambience department. I wish I could have all that yummy food in cool comfort and not sweat!

Looking out for authentic South Indian snacks , try out Madras Cafe in Matunga. Apart from the regular dosas and uttapas , what i recommend you try out is - Madras Misal , Gadbad Idli , Ragi doas . And ofcourse the Kesari ..as the sweet dish. I am assuming that you will not miss out the Filter coffee unless... More

A must go place in Mumbai for South Indian. Few places in this city can match the authenticity and hunger satisfying qualities of this place. Tucked away on one of the radials of King's Circle, this is a very popular breakfast place. Be sure to turn up early for the breakfast shift, as the food gets over by 11am. Be... More

Cafe Madras was my daily dinner place for about 2-3 months (maybe more). It had the best South Indian food outside of Chennai. The place is always packed and you might have to wait a bit. I believe that breakfasts are even more packed. Almost everything here is great. The service is outstanding and feel free to ask the server... More

Cafe Madras, like most old Bombay eateries having some cult following, is tucked away near Matunga cricle in a small blink and you miss it corner. Small and tidy as is expected of a south Indian joint Cafe Madras is set apart by its simple but amazing food. The menu is not extensive, but what is present is made exceptionally... More
