There is always a queue for this place, but the queue gets cleared quickly. Its a nice cosy place, buzzing with people all the time. The food here is extremely fresh and tasty I just lived the vada with rasam. The rasam was very yummy. Butter idli with podi was very yum too, a little on the spicy side though.... More

I love this place. I woke up once at 6:00 and went with my family to madras cafe (1 hour drive) and I have to say that this was one of the best idlis I've ever had! The food isn't even pricy. I'm usually not the south Indian food person, but this was worth it!

Cafe Madras is a highly rated south Indian eatery in Mumbai. Its fans swear by its food. I had always wanted to come here but found no reason until we decided to have a breakfast party one Friday morning. The place is really small and cramped. Dont expect any fine dining experience here. The restaurant is spartan and the service... More

In the bustling streets of Matunga, Cafe Madras is pretty easy to spot. It's the restaurant with hordes of hungry foodies spilling into the road, waiting patiently for their turn to tuck in. Our waiting period lasted 45 minutes, but it was worth it. I was accompanied by 3 adults and 2 kids. The great thing about eating at places... More

It was very disappointing to wait 45 minutes in the hot sun and be shoved into a tiny hot and not so clean restraunt. ....expecting a hot delicious south indian meal........only to be served a meal that was just average and far below our expectations. The numerous awards adorning the walls seen to speak about a time long gone by.... More

You have to be humble to eat here. The restaurant is non air conditioned and cramped tables. But the food makes up for the loss. Awesome food. Will surely visit again.

One of matunga's mosy famous South Indian restaurant. Specifically a breakfast place. Their local coffee is very refreshing. Also the South Indian dishes like idli and vada are quite famous here. Can get full at breakfast time. So ensure you have time on your hands to wait.

Visited this very famous Bombay landmark after a few decades. Food tasted exactly the same, service continues to be super efficient, menu is same, and it continues to be packed to capacity. Wonder why they have not expanded the size of establishment- maybe the 30 min wait creates its own USP. The Upma was the best I have eaten in... More
