Gallops, situated in the famous Mahalaxmi Racecourse compound in Mumbai, is a cozy place with excellent surroundings and pleasing ambiance. It is an ideal place for relaxed dinners for family and/or friends. The preparations were delicious and portions were adequate to large. The Biryani, both vegetarian and mutton versions, were superb. The starters were also great. However the service was... More

A view of the racecourse if you get the right table makes this one of the loveliest places in the city. On a race day, you can see the horses galloping by. Good food, food service, a lovely building!

The food was and is awesome. The ambience, by the side of a turf, splendid. We ordered the old favourites, Liver Pate on Melba Toast and Dori Kabab for appetizers which was fantastic. I was carving for Kashmiri & even turned '2blue' to check, alas to told they serve Rajasthan and Lucknowi cuisine. Another time maybe. So I decided to... More

I read earlier that the food has become erractic - I havent gone there so many times to... More

Gallops restaurants in Mumbai is located in a very unusual location i.e. In a Race course compound. Because most people don't know about it, it is never crowded and on top of it, the view is spectacular with green all around. I visit this place whenever I visit Mumbai, because of the tranquil ambiance, good service and high quality Indian... More

Gallops has to be the most consistent restaurant in Mumbai. Situated overlooking the Mahalakshmi racecourse, it's owners have for years maintained their high standard of food & service. The staff are eager to please & it's the one place that does not make an issue of the normal 8 pm booking. Their Indian & continental cuisine are equally good &... More

This restaurant is part of the Mahalaxmi Racecourse complex and probably as old as the racecourse itself. You can have both Indian and continental cuisine and both a cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is classy and right out of the history books. It has the appearance of a sports bar but it can as well host classy lunches and dinners.... More
