After visiting Gate of India we were looking for a cozy place for breakfast and we saw this cafe on a corner. The decor is so impressive that we decided to have breakfast here. Our decision was correct as we found the staff very courteous and breakfast was delicious. Will like to visit again whenever we are in Mumbai.

it was our first place to eat in India, after that, trying other places brought us back to this restaurant, it was the best one so far. But you must ask for the the indian food, like chicken tikka, that was very nice, don't ask for continental food, you are in india! and that's what they know how to make... More

This busy establishment offers a wide variety menu and has quite a seventies vibe to it. The jukebox is very popular at Rs50 per three songs. Its hard to find a table but worth the wait. Be aware that prices are high.

Cafe Mondegar is very popular so it's great if you're looking for a loud, incredibly packed place to drink a beer in the afternoon. If you're thinking of getting something to eat and chill, this is not the place. There are so many table in there that you can barely move without knocking someone's pint with your elbow. Great decorations... More

This place was so disappointing! I had heard it was a 'happening' place with great music, an attractive crowd, good service and a varied yet reliable menu... It is, in reality, the least comfortable restaurant I visited in the city, with tables so close together, you literally couldn't move. Fire hazard or what! The music was your bog-standard BBC Radio... More

Cafe Mondegar is a nice place to stop for a drink, but I wouldn't come here for a meal. Our chicken burgers were mediocre at best. And while the place is lively and casual, it is very touristy (though perhaps less-so than Leopold's down the road.) Didn't appreciate the waiter hovering over us for a tip either.

The place is so jam packed inside that the tables almost touch each other! Other than that, the music they play is just about the right volume. Pity that they don't serve hard liquor, but the walls offer a creative wave to the whole place. It is funny, and so very Indian. The menu they have is good, and whatever... More

I'd heard about Cafe Mondegar but am always so pleased with Cafe Leo that I've never made it there. Finally did this trip. Cafe Mondegar is located in Colaba just a short walk south of the Regal Theatre. The tables are jammed very close together which was a bit inconvenient. The service, however was quite good. I had Indian food... More

Fun vibe with Mario's satirical cartoon characters on the walls and the jukebox. Even for a teetotaler like myself, there was enough variety. My fav - the papaya juice.
