It's location only barely carries a whiff of its past grandeur. The surroundings are quiet and a nice area of Mumbai. You get meals only at lunch from Mon-Sat. You will enjoy it if you are a non vegetarian. But if you are not, you still will love it as an eggitarian. And you have legions of devotees worldwide of... More

The timeless cafe transports you into a yesteryear excitement, with walls donned with posters and sayings. As you glide yourself into the chairs and begin to absorb your surroundings, something unusual happens. Something that you will always & always remember... You are greeted by this extremely old, fragile and the most humble & bubbliest of men!! His humility and kindness... More

The highlight of this place is that it is owned by a cute old Parsi gentleman who is now 92. He will come personally to your table and ask if your dining experience was good. He will then show you various pics and letters from the queen of England and other British journalists. You can't help admiring the man and... More

This one's full on Legenn....nnndaryyyy!!! A little away from Colaba main market, it isn't a difficult place to spot. The warmth of the place is overwhelming...The Berry Pulaao, Dhansak and Bombay Duck are a must try.....Once you are seated, their "star" an old uncle reaches out for your order.....super quick servers then get you what you have asked for....after which... Went for the famouse sali boti. Place has about 4 generations of family on duty. Very personal touch. Loved the nod to the Colonial past. However, food was below par. Wouldn't go again.

If you are in Mumbai, take a taxi to the Britannia Restaurant located at 11 Sprott Rd, Ballard Estate. Great food especially the Bombay Duck and the chicken dishes. The owner is a vibrant 92-year-old man with a magnetic personality that makes the dining experience so much better.

Sadly the old irani restaurants are now few and far between, located opposite the Old customs house on Ballard estate, Britannia one of the last few beacons of the traditional Parsi/Irani cuisine, Talking to the remarkable 94 year old owner was worth the trip in itself. Food-A favourite muttonBeri pullao fantastic, fried bombay duck ,mutton cutlets great, Mutton Sali Boti once... More
