I've never tried traditional Parsi cuisine but upon my first visit to India we stopped here for lunch as this place was highly recommend. It's not a fancy michelin star establishment from the outset but don't let that deter you, appearances can be deceptive. The food was simply amazing and the restaurant was packed at around 1pm when we visited.... More

Went to this lovely place yesterday after hearing so much about it from all quarters. Food is different and simple. .. If you're looking for fine dining - this isn't your spot. It's a place for a quick and fast meal. In the past two days we've been here twice .... tried sali chicken, dhansak and Berry pulao. Yum! Dhansak... More

Britannia has been there for ever turning out Parsi and Irani food at fairly low cost. Yet somehow it has never been one of my favorites. Went along with my son who wanted to relive his college days and watched him wash down a sali boti. He was disappointed. It was not as good as he remembered it. Not that... More

Britannia & Co is a real treat. The setting is a worn down open space with picnic tableclothes and waiters in tuxedos. It is very charming and unexpected. The chicken berry pilau was one of the best dishes I had in India and the lime soda was sweet and refreshing. The owner of the restaurant is a delight and came... More

This Parsi café is a very popular spot and was full when we arrived. However, people come and go quite quickly and the staff found us a table within a couple of minutes. We had chicken berry pilau and mutton biriyani followed by a sublime creme caramel. And we drank lime soda on the recommendation of the charming owner to... More

As soon as we entered I knew we were in for a treat. Seated quickly we were greeted by Boman Kohinoor, the 91 year old proprietor who regaled us on stories of the British Royal family and other VIPs that he had spoke to or fed. I ordered the chicken berry pulav which was recommended by various reviews and I... More

Founded in 1923, this place is has got an old-world charm that is fast disappearing in Mumbai. Slightly off the beaten track, it is now firmly on the map thanks to TV publicity. Standard lunch dishes are served almost instantanously; best of a good bunch was the chicken berry pulav which I have had nowhere else. It's not the cheapest... More

I have been going to Britannia for years. The location, the decor, the menu, the surliness of the waiters has not changed. The white and pink table cloths have not changed. Neither has the absolute magic of the food changed! Normally, I have the mutton, with bread. This time, after a long time, I had berry pulao. It is magic.... More

We had lunch here today (Tuesday), after having several friends and colleagues recommend this restaurant for months. The berry pulao was excellent--- my favorite of the dishes we tried. Simple menu, good/tasty food, and fast service. Boman, one of the senior partners running the restaurant, was absolutely charming and showed us articles and photos about the restaurant and famous visitors... More
